  1. Wuertz, Z, Wood, Lee, Aram...maybe some others I'm pretty positive Wuertz wasn't there. Yeah, he definitely wasn't on the playoff roster, he didn't make his debut until 2004.
  2. Why do you want an answer? It's a stupid, pointless question. You're not arguing but obfuscating at this point. no i'm not. olerud's contributions to the scoreboard were less than Sosa's. The percentages posted on the previous page show that was entirely a matter of opportunities created thanks to his teammates.
  3. Kendall kept a pitch in the dirt in front of him, get that man a memorial parade
  4. Remember when Easley hit 20 HR in the first half one year and got put in the home run derby? That was hilarious.
  5. They'll probably stick it out for a long rain delay unless it becomes unplayable. Looking at the radar the majority of that system was as light as it can get on the radar, so hopefully it's just drizzle for a while.
  6. Lilly is slow, and the ball was bunted hard enough for it to be a double play possibility. Didn't Maine double clutch before throwing to third? I guess Jones might not have had time to think about that No, Delgado fielded it and went straight to 3rd. Ramirez's sneer after he took the walk is awesome.

  8. but the umpire wasnt calling him out. Jones stays on the bag and the ump was calling him safe. If he doesn't slide through the base, then the umpire doesn't screw up the call.

  10. Floyd looks like he's running with a peg leg out there
  11. When did we get Nannini back? Boring pitching day, hopefully there's some strong days from the bats.
  12. What's attempts? Carries? Passes attempted? Either way I'd lean toward Bulger.
  13. Thomas also has 4 stolen bases. Wow, I didn't notice that. Thomas added a walk to the day's work, his up to date line is .300/.373/.500/.873, with 7/12 BB/K in 67 PA's, and 12 SB with 0 CS. Unfortunately he committed errors 2 and 3 this evening as well.
  14. Boise with an offensive exhibition thus far. Thomas is 3/3 with a double to push his OPS near .850, and Rundle is 1/1 with 2 walks. Good days for Smith(2/3, 2 BB) and Wright(2/4) as well. Burke and Donaldson are each 0/4. Boise leads 9-6 and has yet to hit in their half of the 7th.
  15. Welcome! If we're trying to catch lightning in a bottle, I think Marquis is a better gamble, plus he's already on the team and we have to pay him for 3 years anyway.
  16. Boy am I glad we gave Marquis that 3 year deal. I think right now, Gallagher would put up better numbers than Marquis and for a whole hell lot cheaper. Chalk this up as another one of Jim Hendrys finest... Who would've been starting from April thru June had we not had Marquis? Guzman possibly. I know he is hurt right now, but who knows if he would have been had he been starting regularly. I just hate the fact they gave Marquis a 3 year deal, when we have some kids in the minors who project to be better starters than he is. That's the train of thought that led us to last year's rotation. I'm as big a proponent as anyone of letting young guys get playing time, but at the same time, there's always attrition and ineffectiveness that goes on in the starting rotation. In the offseason you had health question marks for Prior, Miller, Guzman, Mateo, and Marshall. Gallagher didn't have any real success beyond Daytona, and the only other option on the 40 man was Samardzija. To not add another starter was an invitation for the carousel of disaster starts that was the bottom half of the rotation last year.
