The Cardinals won today, but that snapped a 7 game losing streak and they are already 8 games out of the division and have the 3rd worst record in the NL. Marmol got ejected today after *winning* a challenge by screaming 'don't look at me' at the umpire from the dugout:
Goldschmidt hit a HR today that raised his OPS to about .550. Their pop up hitters(Nootbaar, Donovan) and high pedigree prospects(Walker, Gorman) have all faceplanted. Contreras was killing the ball but he broke his arm after they made him move forward to compensate for his framing deficiencies. Their 'be the 2023 Mets with one third of the talent' approach to the rotation has had predictable results(24th in SP WAR). Jordan Hicks and Jack Flaherty escaped their pitching development and immediately became good again. Things are getting dire quickly.
