  1. Agreed. Also, Encarnacion doesn't hit LHP relatively well either.
  2. It's why he's probably the best hitter in baseball. Unreal strength. Seriously, that's exactly what was supposed to happen, he tried to pull the outside pitch and rolled it over.
  3. unbelievable, how did he do that? That ball was 6 inches outside and he hammered it through the left side.
  4. Just throw the slider, he's not going to do anything with it.
  5. Don't throw anything but the slider outside the rest of this at bat
  6. Wuertz doesn't get a ton of ground balls. I would've let Marshall try to get the DP, then bring in Wuertz, who also K's a ton of hitters, for Pujols and Rolen.
  7. Yep, and Murton looked like he went to the "long stride that slows me down" right before he saw Luna fumbling the ball. He still might've been safe.
  8. No, if you look at the linked thread Scott G.F. says he pulls it off the same site that's in Kurt's sig.
  9. Guzman's final line. Brownlie comes in to pitch a scoreless 6th.
  10. 85 pitches thru 5, 0 ER, 2 H, 1 BB, 6 K top of the order coming for the I-Cubs.
  11. Guzman dealing, 4 IP, 2 H, 1 BB, 5 K, 71 pitches. He even has a single at the plate too.
  12. Who do you think did better in 1 run games, the 89 win 2004 Cubs, or the 79 win 2005 Cubs?
  13. Booing your own team is stupid. EDIT: Except in rare circumstances, which haven't arisen since Hundley was traded.
  14. True fans NEVER root for their players to actually fail. Instead, what you should root for is for Dusty to use him properly and for him to succeed in that role. Thanks for telling me what I should and should not do. I guess I'm not a "true fan." More like someone who likes to see failure on their favorite team. In onder words, illogical. There's nothing illogical about what WB said, nor does it not make him a true fan. By this logic, if you've ever hoped for a sacrifice bunt, or hoped that one was successful, you are illogically hoping failure on the team. He wants the team to be ultimately successful, and the best way he thinks is for Neifi to be terrible to make Dusty less likely to play him. That's no different than hoping he does well and justifies Dusty's decision. Both want the team to succeed, and both are logical and indicative of "true fandom".
  15. Who wants an update on DeJesus? I'm glad you asked.... .368/.486/.575/1.061 from the leadoff spot! Still no E's or CS! http://www.ukathletics.com/images/photoviewer/040506bb/bb_040506_dejesus_win2.jpg
