sunnydoo seems like he just have different opinions - cubfaninca just says whatever will annoy people. sunnydoo does pretty much the same thing, just a little different perspective with a little different pet topics. -
To those who gave up on the season in July, this move by the Cubs seems like a terrible one. I understand completely. It wasn't a high percentage play, but it also wasn't completely out of the realm of possibility that the Cubs could've gone a streak or the Astros lost 8 out of 10. Even though the chances weren't great, I appreciate that those in charge of actually winning baseball games didn't give up when you did. Baseball is a funny game. Strange things happen. Keeping yourself open to that possibility is a wise thing to do when you are in charge of winning games, don't you think? Or would you suggest a form of moderate pessimism is the better way to go? It's not like Wood was a SP or an everyday player though, he threw 12 innings of relief in a month. Those 12 innings aren't going to make or break a comeback run.

I wonder if Detroit could make a couple more 3 pointers in the second half. The 10 of 11(at least half of those being bad shots/well defended) they hit in the first half didn't quite do it for me.

Fun game for those following on gameday: After Pierre's at bat gets the "Out(s) recorded" ball, try to guess with your mouse where the dot is going to be for the groundout.

DFA Rusch and Bynum Tell Neifi he's trespassing if he's ever seen at a Chicago Cubs function ever again. Fontenot, Sing, and Greenberg(or Nic Jackson) take the 40 man spots Call up Theriot, Wuertz, Fontenot, and Greenberg/Jackson Send down Novoa Lineup until Lee returns: Murton/Walker/Ramirez/Barrett/Jones/Cedeno/Pierre Once Lee gets back(Restovich sent down) and calendar permits, pay Jones' way off the team until it's worth some team's while to take him. Miller takes his spot on the 40 man, Sing or Restovich takes his spot on the 25 man. Trade Williams, Hill/Guzman, and Dopirak to TB for Gomes(Restovich/Sing sent down). Other targets could be Abreu, Burrell, Diaz, and Craig Wilson. If you can't get any of them without paying through the nose, then platoon Greenberg/Jackson and Sing/Restovich in the 6 hole until September when Pie plays it every game. Lineup for remainder of season: Murton/Walker/Lee/Ramirez/Gomes/Barrett/Cedeno/Pierre Rotation for remainder of season: Zambrano/Maddux/Prior/Wood/Marshall, remainder of Hill/Guzman and Ryu next in line for rotation spot. Pen for remainder of season: Dempster/Howry/Eyre/Williamson/Ohman/Wuertz Bench for remainder of season: Blanco/Hairston/Mabry/Theriot/Fontenot/Greenberg(or Jackson)

yep, don't want to set up a guy w/ a .934 ops vs. righties. i By bunting with a guy who hits just as well against RHP, and isn't having a terrible game/season/worse career.
