  1. Cedeno with a liner into right, Jones scores, Murton to 2nd.
  2. First and third, Murton turned on one and got a single into LF.
  3. Haron with a balk so Jones goes to 2nd with Murton up.
  4. Jones takes a walk! This is going to be a good season!
  5. What was the comment about mustaches? I only caught the end of it.
  6. Ball 4 to Melhuse...pitches are starting to pile up a little bit.
  7. C'mon Z, keep the pitch count down and get out of this inning!
  8. Kielty (sp?) pulls a hot shot off the glove of Lee and into RF.
  9. Nice to see Z moving quickly through the order in his first outing.
  10. Whoever was up fouled out on the first base side.
  11. Pat and Ron's convo about this "neck-shader" is funny..I enjoy listening to them again.
  12. Ramirez gets an infield single, Lee on second (barely), Hairston scores.
  13. Lee got a single into center and Hairston is on 3rd now. Ramirez up.
  14. Early died in 1999. In other words, he can cover about as much ground as the others can. Well, Early's grave may cover more ground than Bonds can.
  15. I have only one problem with his 5 HR game. If Eck hit 5 and Pujols hit one, how did the only score 5 runs. Also, the runs were only scored in three different innings so somehow they must have batted around yet had the bases empty when he came up...I'd like to know exactly how they did that.
  16. Haha that is pathetic! Maybe it would be best for the Cubs to get a Double-A affiliate closer to Chicago, where people would support the team more. Closer to chicago? Heck no! Take advantage of the Cubs nation wide follwing and move them to the west coast. That way they have a warm weather AA affilate for those people coming back from injuries during Spring. That and I could watch them 8) I say Palm Springs would be a good place. No, they should definately come back down to Midland where they've played before. It's still over a 2 hour drive but I'd definately go to more games.
  17. With Hendry trying to make the team better, if we fall flat on our faces again down the stretch this year I don't think Baker will last a long time. Hendry is intelligent and firing him during the season would leave more dead money but since last year is his last year under contract anyway, we won't be out that much money.
  18. Hendry is a smart man, I don't think he'll go after Lawton. Lawton has a reputation for falling flat on his face in the 2nd half of the year.
  19. No, there was a deal where he was going to be sent along with OF Adam Stern to Colorado for Bigbie. All that was needed was the approval from Boston's ownership then it fell apart.
  20. No. But being a guy who wants to see every possibility exhausted to get Manny to the Cubs, I'd sure love to think that way! Even if ARam is part of the package sent back to Boston like Steve Stone was saying? I'd love to have Manny here as well (provided Boston picks up a large chunk of his salary) but not if it is going to cost us someone like ARam who we couldn't replace easily. Ok, I DEFINITELY wouldn't do that. What I meant to say was, we should exhast every possibility THAT MAKES SENSE to get Manny to the Cubs. Trading either of ARam, DLee, Prior, Z, Barrett, or Murton would not make too much sense. MM maybe as he's a LF too, but that dude's got a huge upside it would appear, would like to hold on to him for a bit longer. Barrett is tradeable, especially if they throw Shoppach into the trade with Manny.
