  1. I do believe that there has been talk of Cuban interested in buying the Cubs in the past as well. I'd love to see what he could do with this organization, the only thing I'd worry about is if he'd try to modernize Wrigley too much with a bunch of advertising and the like.
  2. Hopefully the Jaxx can "start" him on his was back to the dugout  I know I'm cheesy.
  3. Tim has disabled the search feature because the search plugin to the server was causing the site to crash too frequently.
  4. Felix has dropped back down to 49% of the vote now, I don't think I'll be voting anymore tonight but tomorrow my goal is to get him to 3-400 votes. I wonder what the record number of votes for any one player during a single week is?
  5. Okay...so who's playing tomorrow and when?? J/K Outshined I know you're just a little slow
  6. His first of the year too!! He's started out slow but hopefully he can heat it up through the end of April and carry it on into May.
  7. It was no problem, after I figured out a much easier way to vote I was getting off each vote in under 5 seconds.
  8. My last 2 picks, Murton and David Wright, have both gone 0-2 with a BB. Too bad this is a hitting streak contest and not a reaching base contest.
  9. Pie now has 50% of the vote. This equates to 222 votes for Felix so far. How much longer should I go tonight?
  10. Pie now has a 20 vote lead over Upton...how much further shall we go?
  11. Good call! Oh, and BTW, Felix was nominated last week but is currently running behind some guy named BJ Upton. If you want to vote it's on the MiLB Home Page. 61 votes? I think we can do something to help the Pie cause. I've got Pie up to 90 votes now; unfortunately I have to clear my cookies after each time I vote which gets redundant after awhile. Taking a page out of vance's book though I won't stop until he's winning.
  12. Sure beats the hell out of that 10 game suspension, or whatever that was. The old suspensions were only 15 and 30 games; and I agree, the new suspensions are much better. The only problem now is that most of the guys being suspended get the stuff that they test positive for legally. Hopefully the use of whatever it is that they are getting will decline, but for the time being I just don't see a significant decline.
  13. Good lord Marmol looks young there. Then again if he keeps pitching like he has been so far this year I don't care what he looks like.
  14. Good for him, it is stupid when a team refuses to pay to get one of their players healthy.
  15. 5 more MiLB players were suspended today for violation of the sterioid policy. D-Backs minor league P Angel Rocha received a 100 game suspension for his 2nd positive test. Angels pitcher Karl Jelinas, Mets pitcher Jorge Reyes, Cards outfielder Yonathan Sivira and Padres pitcher Matthew Varner all received 50-game suspensions. Nice to see these players finally getting caught, though the numbers this early are a little staggering. Link
  16. This didn't generate alot of interest last week but hopefully it will catch on soon. Peoria: Hitter- Ryan Norwood .400BA (8-20) 3R 2 2B HR 3RBI 3BB Pitcher- Mitch Atkins 2 ND 10IP 1.80ERA 6H 2ER 11K/3BB Daytona: Hitter- Ryan Harvey .320BA (8-25) 5R 3HR 5RBI 10K/1BB 2 Outfield Assists Pithcer- Chris Shaver 4.2IP 0H 0ER 8K/0BB I'll post my results for the Jaxx and Iowa in a bit but I've got to go for now.
  17. It'd have to be Novoa getting sent back because Aardsma is still in Iowa.
  18. After a slow start, Teixeira's hit today has me up to a 3-game streak. Hopefully Murton can make it 4 game tomorrow.
  19. In either of the cases posted above, were the league for fun or were they prize leagues? Either way cheating is extremely immature but I am just curious if there is some motive behind it besides winning?
  20. That isn't really all that bad of an injury, I've got a friend who had the transverse process of one of his vertebrae chipped off completely in football. The doctors couldn't even find it in him so he just kept playing. Last year in football I broke several of the pedicules in my lower back...and that wasn't fun at all.
  21. WooHoo! after starting out a combined 0-15, Lee finally gets me jumpstarted. Hopefully this is a start to a streak that won't end for awhile.
  22. nope I don't know why he's out. Hopefully Nathan can tell us if there's something wrong with him or if he's just having a day off tonight. Well I do believe he hits from the left side, and they're facing a LHP tonight so maybe he's out because of that.
  23. Flames, any mention of why Johnston is out of Peoria's lineup tonight?
  24. I'm 6'4" 235lbs and left-handed. I can play OF, 1B, and P but I put down SP because that seems to be the least taken. Besides which, pitchers are the most athletic players on the field :D
  25. So far Josh Willingham, Derek Lee, Aramis Ramirez, Michael Young, and Miguel Tejada have combined to keep me hitless. Hopefully Lee can get me started tonight.
