  1. I'm pleased as well. I wasn't too enamored with Spencer, but if that's who they targeted, they did a nice job getting their guy while stockpiling an extra first tounder for next year. I like the pick of Marten as he gives us depth at OL and he'll have at least a year to learn the scheme and bulk up some. I'm just so elated about getting Cleveland's first rounder that it really didn't matter much who we picked. Looking ahead to next year really excites me. Here's just a few players that we could have a choice of next season: Darren McFadden RB Arkansas Jared Gaither OT Maryland Brian Brohm QB Louisville Glenn Dorsey DT LSU Kenny Phillips S Miami (FL) Jake Long OT Michigan DeSean Jackson WR California Mario Manningham WR Michigan Franklin Okam DT Texas Sam Baker OT USC McFadden, plz! My favorite teams are now the Cowboys and whoever is playing Cleveland. McFadden is clearly the best player right now, but I'm not ready to concentrate solely on him. Flo will be a FA after this season, and any one of Gaither/Long/Baker could turn out to be franchise LTs. I would be really pleased though if we are able to get a good season out of Julius and then let him walk and get a high comp pick for him, then grab McFadden with the Browns' pick and an OT with our pick. I'll go out on a bit of a limb and say John David Booty will the first overall pick next year. Brian Brohm, Erik Ainge, Andre Woodson, and Darren McFadden might have something to say about that.

  3. I've been very happy so far. If the Cowboys can come out of the 2nd day with Paul Soliai, one of Fred Bennett/Tarrell Brown/Michael Coe at CB, and then someone like Ryne Robinson at WR I'd be thrilled.
  4. The first thread is already pretty long and this is a different phase of the draft so I'm creating a new thread for it. If the mods disagree, then I have no problem merging it. The top players left on Rick Gosselin's top 100 board are: RB Antonio Pittman (47) Michael Bush (94) DT Paul Soliai (78) Antonio Johnson (80) OT Doug Free (77) Jermon Bushrod (96) G/C Josh Beekman (82) LeRoy Harris (89) Allen Babre (100) WR David Clowney (88) DE Jay Moore (90) Brain Robinson (92) S Tandard Jackson (60) Brandon Condren (98) CB Michael Coe (95) I'm personally really excited for day 2, the Cowboys have 7 picks left to maneuver with and some pretty good players are left.

  7. I'm very pleased with the Cowboys' first day. We picked up Anthony Spencer to go along with DWare in the first, WP is gonna have fun with those 2. We wanted him at 22 and were able to get him at 26. Then we picked up James Marten in the early 3rd. At first I wasn't so sure about this pick, but BC lineman always do well in the NFL and Marten can play every position on the OL. We've still got 2 fourth rounders, 2 sixth rounders, and 3 seventh rounders and we've got a potentially top-10 pick from Cleveland in next year's draft. If we can pick up a WR, NT, and DB tomorrow I'll be extremely happy with our draft.
  8. it's early... yeah, but I had expected him to do this well thus far. :) And Zach Duke... well, Zach Duke hasn't really been the rookie Zach Duke since he was the rookie Zach Duke Just wait, he'll find his way to the Cardinals and become Cy Duke.
  9. It just stopped updating at the end of the 3rd, they probably had some sort of server overload or other computer problems.
  10. It's the aspx file format, not the tags. Is that something that is just specific to this forum? I'm able to post aspx files on other forums.
  11. Does anyone know why there's a space in my tags? There isn't one when I try to edit it, but there is when I preview of post it.
  12. Madded '08 Screenshots of the 1st-rounds can be found here. It is all java so I can't give a direct link, but all you have to do is click on "Rookie Draft Gallery" in the middle on the bottom. Some that will be of interest: JMR: http://maddenfb.com/photos/draftpicks/images/70/original.aspx Greg Olsen: http://maddenfb.com/photos/draftpicks/images/51/original.aspx Anthony Spencer: http://maddenfb.com/photos/draftpicks/images/57/original.aspx
  13. Manuel Ramirez and Doug Free are still out there too.
  14. Hell I wish Clemson was in the SEC, the Rebels might win a few more games every year. That's my bad, I don't know why I thought they were SEC.
  15. No Maurice Clarrett this time, Raiders go with Johnnie Lee Higgins. I was really hoping he would fall to the Cowboys at the bottom of the 4th.
  16. Colts get Quinn Pitcock, he'll be a good addition for their run game. And Oakland is on the clock with the last pick of the day.
  17. 9ers pick up Ray McDonald. I'm really surprised he's fallen this far, I really expected him to go above Moses and and Charles Johnson somewhere in the middle of the 2nd.
  18. Chargers take SEC boy Anthony Waters out of Clemson.
  19. Colts take Daymeion Hughes. He really fell after he was found to be much shorter than originally thought, but this is a real good choice at this stage.
  20. 2nd pick is Michael Okwo, I feel he's a reach here.
  21. First Bears pick is Garrett Wolfe, nice hometown pick.
  22. Nothing announced yet, but with back-to-back picks they don't have to announce the first one in the 10-minute time limit.
  23. Late 4th-5th, but he's better than Quincy Black who has already been drafted.
  24. Fine with me. I trust this staff. Jahri Evans was also a nobody G from a small school last year and he sure turned out GREAT. He wasn't a nobody to us draftniks, but he did come from a small school. He is a very different player than Alleman though.
  25. Buffalo grabs Trent Edwards. JP Lossman better look into other opportunities.
