    My 2nd team, the Rangers, are helping me through this season as well. Since they're much closer and much more talented, I may need to change my priorities until the Cubs change theirs.

    Valentine is managing in Japan (Seibu I believe), and Gwynn is the head coach at SDSU. Hershiser was Texas' pitching coach last yeara and did a decent job, but he's now working for ESPN I believe which leads me to wonder if he wants to coach anymore.

    The Cubs have lost their last 4 games by a combined score of 24-3, and the last 2 games that Lee has been with us have been 2 of the worst losses. How much longer does Baker get, seriously?

    Since he's had control problems, I think it'd be best if he switched places with Marmol and worked out of the bullpen at first.

    Great game, Oritz won it with a single in the bottom of the 12th with 2 out and 2 on. How many game winning hits does he have this year?

    Youkilis tied the game up again and he's on 2nd with 2 outs.

    Crisp with a ground-rule double to lead off the 12th, it looks like this thing could go for awhile.

    Is anyone else following the game right now? It's tied 6-6 in the top of the 12th, and they've used a combined 14 pitchers so far. A surprising turn around for a game that was scoreless heading into the bottom of the 6th.

    That was rumored last year IIRC. What are Heilman's numbers this year? Might not be bad, and we do have plenty of 2B to replace Walker :roll: 4.39 ERA and 1.37 WHIP in 41IP. He's having problems with his release point and he's been very inconsistent so far. For Walker, a guy who is going to be gone after this season, I think that would be a major score. Even if does what he's doing now, he'd easily be our No. 2 starter if we put him in the rotation. Except he's had 0 starts this year and he's only averaging a little over 1IP per game. He's only started in 12 games over the last 3 years, and 5 of them came in 04 when he pitched in 5 games total; I think starter may be out of the questoin now.

    The slurves aren't so bad; it's the double and triple dips that you've got to watch out for.

    Yes. No matter how you slice it drafting Colvin was pretty much a waste. Wow. I understand we reached for him, but give the kid a couple years before you call him a "waste." Agreed. He was STILL considered a 1st rd guy. So, if for nothing else, he went about 15 picks before he should have gone. But Tyler Colvin, will be a very good player for the Cubs. Not even close. Who told you this? He was ranked 170th by BA, well outside the first few rounds. There can't even be an argument about this. Seriously man, this pick just shows what a complete mess the Cubs are as a franchise. They're treading water in a sea of poor decisions and bad information. During the Draft-Day Blog or one of their articles, BA mentioned that Colvin was shooting up the charts and that atleast one other team besides the Cubs (the White Sox supposedly) thought Colvin was a 1st rounder.

    Malone with a triple and a homer so far, and I believe this is his debut.

    He's not major league material yet, he can't even throw the base out of the infield. It wouldn have been better though if after he'd gotten home plate wet, he would've covered it back up to make it muddy.

    I don't get it. Do we have one now? Apparently not. Hendry was too busy(doing what?)to be in Minnesota and watch his 18 games below .500 team get swept by the Twinkies. Maybe Chuckie Cheese had some special week-end buffet he couldn't pass up. But MacPhail was there in the Twins box being chummy with Tom Kelly and GM Terry Ryan. MacPhail is juicing his contacts hoping to lineup a job this offseason because he knows he's on his way out.

    I think the game is rigged! I've gotten to where I can make alot of contact but the ball curves wickedly right off the bat.

    Man that guy has some wicked pitches, any chance he'll sign for a boatload of money? And for the record I had 2 jacks but hit him 10 times.

    Excellent. ARam for David Wright is a sure thing then, eh? I feel like we're getting ripped off there; ARam and Cedeno for Wright and Reyes seems more fair IMO, don't you agree? :lol:

    He'll probably keep Neifi and Pierre in the everyday lineup.

    Is there any chance that Marquez Smith signs with us? He looked like he's got some talent but was a pretty low draft pick.

    Isn't Lewis the one that walks up and draws an "X" in the dirt by the foul line before he steps into the batter's box? I don't know why but it kinda bothers me when whoever it is walks up and does it; I always feel like lashing out and saying "You're a freakin' minor league, get in the box and hit", but of course then I'd look like an idiot screaming into my laptop screen so it's rather pointless.
