    He's been sailing along and with the way our bullpen has been I'd almost rather him go 8. He's only thrown 101 pitches...a 10-15 pitch 8th inning would be nice and then have Dempster or Aardsma come in for the 9th and hold it.

    Aardsma is up in the pen, but when they showed Z in the dugout he didn't really look like he was done.

    Solid single off of Wright's glove for Murton. It seems like he's starting to make more solid contact in the month of July.

    Have to like the effort though, Floyd has looked awful out there all night. Itw as almost a heads up play except Floy actually got his glove on the ball on the first try. I agree...it was a relatively close play at 2nd base and if that throw had bounced in there I think he would've been safe.

    I hope so. You never know with those pesky "precautionary" injuries. Maybe call up Taylor Parker from Mesa? Or maybe Darin Downs? I think he's been MIA for awhile now as well.

    3/6 K/BB ratio through 5 now and he's only allowed 1 run. Even with the scary control problems, he's still got a nice 8-3 GO-FO ratio.

    I believe the problem is a mutual one; the Cubs shouldn't alllow him to do it or put up with it, but Aramis should have enough self-pride to hustle when he needs to.

    I'll be going to the Midland vs. San Antonio game on next Saturday the 29th, who are players that I should watch for? Looking through their rosters all I see are Kurt Suzuki and Travis Buck for the Rockhounds. San Antonio has alot of young players but the only names that jump out at me are Tuiasosopo and Travis Blackley; who all am I missing?

    I had ARod and just traded him to another team for Miguel Cabrera...did I get a good deal? My 3B situation is a bit crowded because I've got both Mora and Blalock on my roster, so I plan on playing Cabrera in the OF where I've been fielding a hodge-podge bunch of Granderson, Matthews Jr, Nady, Ibanez, and Blake.

    IMO Wickman was more valuable than Williamson, and all the Indians got was one decent low-A prospect.

    A few questions about Samardzija....... How many starts did Samardzija have at Boise? Overall, how did he look? Will the promotion to Peoria be troubling? Is this a big jump for him with only a minimal amount of starts at Boise? Are those 5 HBP very troubling or just attributed to something such as nerves? How many starts will he be able to get in before he has to report back to Notre Dame? He had 5 starts in Boise and is expected to have 3 starts in Peoria I believe. So far he's been dominating against RH's but LH's have been crushing him. Everything I've seen says 2 starts in Peoria. I thought I saw Nathan saying they were expecting 3 starts from him but maybe my memory is temporarily failing me.

    I usually wouldn't feel that trying to get a draft pick is worth just offering a guy arbitration because the draft is suck a crapshoot, but seeing what we recieved, we shoulda tried that over a trade. He's been injured though and probably wouldn't have got us much in the way of draft compensation. Last year he only pitched 14.3 innings where he didn't fair too well and he hasn't been too hot this year either. He probably would've been a Class C FA.

    Ron, how is Dopirak after the break and after some time from his return? I notice he's starting to make more contact lately, is he still unable to place much weight on that ankle or is he getting back to normal?

    From what I've found the Giants get Hillenbrand and RHP Vinnie Chulk for RHP Jeremy Accardo.

    ESPN is reporting that the Giants have acquired Hillenbrand...no word what they gave up for him yet.

    Travis Blackley seems like someone who was pretty highly rated but he's taken a pretty big step back. He'll still only be 24 later this year so I guess that he can still turn it around.

    *cough* :P On top of that, both teams hit a few guys yesterday and there were warnings. And Francisco gives up back-to-back doubles to start the bottom of the 7th and Everett is on the board, down 3-1. Ehh alright so I'm not a very good skim reader, but I was more specific than you were :P
