2022 Complain about your fantasy team that no one cares about discussion

Darnold for sure of those options. -
Jared Goff Kirk Cousins Carson Wentz Trevor Lawrence Kyler Murray (gave up 42 yards on 4 QB runs) Cooper Rush (who despite his name, literally had 0 rushes) Kenny Pickett Davis Mills Taylor Heinecke Matt Ryan (LOL, hasn't broken triple digits rushing in 3 years, never over 147) Aaron Rodgers Ryan Tannehill Daniel Jones/Tyrod Taylor (gave up 66 yards) Only Lawrence, Murray, Pickett, and Jones have over 100 yards on the ground all year. Murray and Jones combined have 60 more yards on the ground than Fields. Justin is easily the biggest QB run threat the Eagles D will face outside of practice.
-
Cody Whitehair has a higher PFF grade than the Eagles LG, Landon Dickerson. Teven Jenkins is better than Seomalu, the Eagles RG. But yeah, you're looking at Jenkins, Brisker and right now Kmet because their TE is on IR. I also think Montgomery is a better player than Miles Sanders, but Sanders is the better fit in both schemes (if that makes sense).
-
Looks like Justin Fields did not practice today due to illness. My fantasy teams needs him to go this week. It's horsefeathering playoffs!

Yeah, that's why I've been pretty adamant about thinking they will win a game. It's probably good for the overall morale and future of the team. And frankly, Fields deserves to celebrate a win after all he has done the last couple months. But also, I don't think it will make a big difference anyway. I know everyone wants the 2nd pick for this huge trade haul, but there's always been a couple issues with that, IMO. One, people are operating under the assumption that Seattle and/or Detroit were going to trade up for a QB, and they appear to be good with what they have. Two, they were never going to trade their multiple 1sts to move up 1-2 spots anyway. Three, these QBs may not even be worth trading up for. Young is considered QB1, but he's tiny in height and bulk. I've seen people have Stroud as QB1 over Young because he has decent NFL size, but he's nowhere near the prospect Fields was, and he went 11th. Levis has the measurables, but meh performance on the field. Best chance was always Carolina or Indianapolis trading up, and that would take away Bears' fans dreams of trading down and still getting Anderson or Carter.

Chicago Bears Offseason Thread (the tank must payoff)

It's all about how much I care about the results. In year's past, I've skipped watching games because I don't care and there was nothing worth watching. This year, I only did that in the Jets game when Fields didn't play. So, I will watch every game (assuming he plays them all) and will actively root for them to win as the game is going on. I will complain about playcalling, mistakes by players, questionable calls. But at the end of the day, if they lose, I won't be upset like I usually would be with a loss. That ship sailed after the Detroit game. I was genuinely pissed off about that game. But it's now in the "it's actually good we lost" phase. And I won't complain about a worse draft pick. Still a path to contention if you hit on the draft picks. -
Eagles run D isn't great in terms of YPC. Actually, it's 24th in the league. Their pass D is amazing though. But to be fair they haven't exactly faced a Murderer's Throw of QBs. Faced Detroit week 1 when they weren't good yet. Vikings Week 2. But since then it's been: Wentz, Lawrence (again not on a roll yet when they played), Kyler, Cooper Rush, Pickett, Mills, Ryan, Rodgers, Tannehill, Jones. I do think the Bears will be able to hang around most of the game. Coming off a bye, at home, game sandwiched between 2 division rivals (NYG last week, Dallas next). But the Eagles will likely pull away late. If it is close in the 4th and the Bears do lose, I surely hope it's because the Eagles pulled away late and not because of an overanalyzed late offensive drive and Fields trying to come back with a bad OL and XFL WRs.

Chicago Bears Offseason Thread (the tank must payoff)

I know he's still pretty good, but I have 0 interest in Hopkins. He's going to be 31 next season, was just suspended this season for 6 games due to PEDs or whatever, and has a huge 30M cap hit. While it would only be 8.15M to the team trading for him, Arizona would be eating 22.6M in that trade. And he seems like a guy that would ask for an extension in any trade since his deal is up after 2024 and he'd be a bargain to his new team. -

Eh they've also shredded Ds because Fields can create 50 yard plays at any moment. They're a 5-8 team with bad variance luck if you believe expected W-L at all. Luckily all the 4 teams they play are still much better. But there's a plausible chance that they pull off a win here in the next 4 games. Luckily even with an extra win they still can't drop below 5th. And I'd say a fairly good chance that they don't drop past 4th, even with a win. I will take that. Detroit and Minnesota both have an even point diff. They are beatable, and the Bears could have easily beaten both last time. Spotted Minnesota like 17 or 21 points and a late stupid fumble lost the game. And that was before Fields really became a weapon in the run game (though is this the game he had the TD called back?). Detroit is obviously hot right now, but the Bears definitely should have beaten them last time. And call me crazy, but I'm looking at a potential upset in the Buffalo game. I don't know how the Bears stop them, but Allen has only surpassed 240 yards in the air 1x in the last 6 games, and they historically don't like to run the ball much (been much more willing and able as of late). Allen has also been prone to the occasional turnover. Throw in it's a Christmas Eve game, they are traveling and this game is sandwiched between 2 big matchups vs. AFC contenders (Miami, Cincy)....and stranger things have happened. -

The Patriots D scored 25 points How many teams in your league if you are playing guys like Boyd, Chark, Pacheco and Homer? Yuck! Was a 6-team bye week. I was missing 4 starters in my "must win" league. I started Tyler Huntley, Demarcus Robinson and Nick Westbrook-Ikine in a 12-team league because it's a 2 FLEX and waivers were all picked over. -

My other money league, I'm going to lose by 0.1. Lol. It's fine because I'm going to the playoffs. But Rhamondre Stevenson needed 1 point tonight for me to win, and got hurt (like apparently everyone else in this godforesaken game) with 8 yards rushing. -

Remaining schedules Houston - KC, @TEN, JAX, @ IND Denver - ARI, @LAR, @KC, LAC Chicago - PHI, BUF, @DET, MIN Houston probably isn't winning 2 more games, especially because it looks like they are gunning for number 1. Denver has a tough schedule. Arizona is winnable but they probably won't have Russ (is that a good or a bad thing?). Bears will probably lose out. Seem destined for the 3rd pick but crazier things have happened. Seems pretty annoying that the Bears have played the hardest SOS in the NFL and also have the hardest remaining SOS in the NFL. Even though it helps us lose, it continues to kill our tiebreaker I think everyone is discounting the fact that the Bears could win a game. Probably not happening against the Eagles, but Fields has been stacking good games. Granted, he's had a week each in between his last 2 games, but I still contend that it's tough to lose every single time when your QB is the best player on the field for either team. Won't have that problem against the Eagles, but Josh Allen hasn't been great recently and they've struggled to score. Detroit has struggled to stop people and the Bears should have beaten them before. Then there's the even point differential Vikings, who may or may not care about the game. Houston almost beat the Cowboys and probably should have. The Jags are rolling a bit. Denver put up their best offensive game of the season. Bad teams have good showings late all the time. I still think anything can happen. And I can see the Bears pulling out 2 wins in these last 4 games. -

My team [expletive] the bed completely against a 2-11 team. I picked up Tyler Huntley to start at the last minute over Brady against the #1 defense. Brady only got 10 points, but Huntley ended with 6.6 because he got hurt in the 1st half of the game. Additionally, Tee Higgins got hurt in the 1st quarter and finished with 0.0 points. DJ Moore, I don't think was hurt, but had 0 catches and a 6 yard run. 0.6 points. Dallas D, instead of dominating a terrible Houston team platooning QBs, only managed 4 points due to a Hail Mary INT on the last play of the game. -

Lovie may not even have a job next year. They fired their coach last year that had a similar 1-win roster that Lovie has this year, but led them to 4 wins. Plus, the Texans are notoriously racist and only hired Lovie because they would have looked bad hiring a white guy after firing their previous black coach in 1 year after he overachieved. And it was the same time as the Brian Flores stuff was going on, so I'm convinced they hired Lovie (which was out of nowhere) because they were supposedly down to 2 candidates (Flores and a white guy, can't remember which one) and didn't want to pick the white one while Flores was suing the league for being racist. It's also possible the Texans fall in love with Anderson at 1 and are willing to use their other 1st round pick (from the Browns) to trade up for whichever QB falls past 2-3. If Kiper is right and some teams like Levis as QB1, then they could potentially move back for one of the guys that most consider the top 2 QBs. that last paragraph has me entirely confused, they love Anderson but would trade back for the possibility of 2-3 qb's? Do they have 2 1st round picks? noted on the Texans being racists. I mean, when has that not been true for all Texans (save old style) ETA: I would also be very sad if Lovie didnt get another year...or 8 Yeah, I was mostly rambling. But my thinking is they feel Anderson is unequivocally the best player in the draft. They do have 2 1sts (Browns pick for Watson). If they take a QB 1, they won't get Anderson. If they take Anderson 1, they may be able to get 1 of the top 3 QBs by trading back up. And a trade up for a QB is much more justifiable than a trade up for a DE. -

we arent, that's why some of us really want Anderson/Carter if we get pick #2. They very well may not drop, in fact lovie at #1 may likely end up taking one of Anderson/Carter I believe Lovie may not even have a job next year. I am firmly in team trade down just because I think having more spins at the wheel is your best chance at some semblance of certainty when acquiring talent, but if I were drafting there and he's available (and were taking defense), I'd rather have Carter. Just seems interior guys like that are harder to find than good edge guys and would make a huge impact on this defense. Nothing like a guy who can wreck shop and generate pressure from the interior. Fully willing to admit that I don't follow college whatsoever, though, so all I know is what I've seen on Twitter and draft scouting reports. I agree with every word of the first paragraph. It's a toss up on who's the better prospect, though I do think Carter is more unique because like you said, there are more impact edge guys out there than impact DTs. I think Bears' fans attachment to Anderson is in part due to the fact that I think it's a pretty safe assumption that the Bears will add a DT in free agency. They tried to pay big money for Ogunjobi last year, when they had no money. Now they have a ton of cap and a loaded DT class. -

Yeah, that's how the Broncos win the futility tiebreaker. Worse strength of schedule = lost to worst teams = must be worse than team that lost to better teams. And the same way the Bears can address OL and WR later, they can address DE later. I agree it would be tough to pass on Anderson, but I think you're more likely to find a capable DE in the 2nd round in this draft than you are a WR or OL, especially with the late 2 from the Ravens. If you trade back, that also potentially gives you an extra pick (or 2) before the late 2nd so the dropoff is even less. So it basically becomes: Anderson + late 2nd round OT/WR vs. potentially the top OT/WR + early 2nd round DE + late 2nd round OT/WR, not to mention potentially getting an early pick next year. To give you a couple names, just did a couple quick mock drafts. Anderson + Zay Flowers in straight up draft Traded 2 for 6, 39 and 2024 2nd to Carolina (didn't take the insane 4, 15, 2024 1st from Detroit) and got Quinten Johnston (WR) + Anton Harrison (OT) + Andre Carter (DE). -

So, I guess I am still alive. There's a 12-1 team, a 9-4 team, then four 7-6 teams and me and 2 others at 6-7. Looks like overall points is the tiebreaker. I'm in the middle of the 2 other 6-7 teams in points. The team that is BELOW me in points is playing the only 7-6 team that I have outscored. The team above me is playing a 7-6 team and projected to lose by 2 points. So, I need one 6-7 team to lose and the other 6-7 team to win. I play the worst team in the league, I am projected to outscore him, but I am also missing Fields, A Jones, Lazard and AJ Dillon (yeah, I know too many Packers but got 2 of them on waivers). Oh and side bar, I just realized the team that beat me by 0.6 points last week, beat me about 8 weeks ago by 1.8. -
Bengals are in an interesting spot. Boyd probably walks after 2023 when his deal is up. Don't HAVE to pay Higgins until after that, but then you have to pay Burrow and Chase. I don't see them paying 2 WRs 20M+. Chase may hit 30Mil territory and Burrow 50-60Mil. I wish the Bears could have waited to see what they do with Higgins this offseason (also Jeudy and Broncos), but that could have also been an issue because those guys will go for a #1, and the Bears aren't trading a top 5 for them. So would have had to make a draft slot trade before entertaining that idea.
-
I have a theory that the Bears are targeting a slot guy. Velus was their draft pick. He's more slot WR if anything, though he's not much of a WR at all. Pettis is 3rd on the team in snaps despite having the least future value because of his ability to play the slot. Pringle was activated and made active right away after coming back from injury, because of his ability to play the slot. So out of all those guys, the only slot guy is likely Jeudy. DPJ can give you some snaps there as well. But those others would force Mooney into the slot full time, which if they wanted to do that, I think we would have seen Harry on the outside much more than we have.
-
Yeah, he's a lock. He's not a lock to be in the offensive rotation as more than a gimmick player, but he will be on this team. He's been playing special teams on coverage and returns. He has a pair of 40+ yard returns (actually leads NFL in average, but small sample size), so he has some value even if he's never an actual NFL WR. I’ll take your word for it, but that’s disappointing. Keeping Velus and losing Montgomery while adding some 2nd day slot receiver does little to add to the skill position talent this offseason. You’re going into 2023 begging Fields to make an inferior group productive. Yeah, that's why I'm almost 100% trading down if I have a choice. I love the top defensive players in this draft, but I want offense. Ideally, you get one of the top WRs with a modest trade down. Pick up an early 2nd and take a tackle, then take a DE with the Seattle pick. Wouldn't complain about getting top OT and a 2nd round slot WR, because OL is just as important. But I just want an elite talent on the offense. Fields with a bunch of Day 2 guys probably isn't good enough.
-
Obviously hard to predict. But I'm somewhat skeptical Poles wants to go in on a Mooney-Claypool-Trade target all needing extensions. Yea they're sunk costs at this stage, and he coild let Mooney walk next year and try and collect the comp pick for him, but I do kind of think Claypool was the move and hell try to add the BIG name WR through the draft. Claypool raises the floor enough to allow him to do that. Yeah, I think Mooney and Claypool are it on the established WR front. I mean, they'll probably add another vet or 2 to replace St. Brown and Pettis, but I don't expect any big dollars thrown around and probably not even any early picks going out. Just tough to justify trading a 2 for Claypool then a 1 or 2 for someone like a Jerry Jeudy. Maybe another guy like Kadarius Toney comes available, but IDK if that type of player moves the needle too much, and he still cost a 3rd round pick. That's why I really prefer a trade down in this draft. Whether it's 2nd pick or 3-7. No offensive value that early. And I want offense. Whether it's Quinton Johnston early or you get a mid-late 1 and get Smith-Njigba, I feel like the only way they add a #1 WR is if they draft and develop one. And it's justifiable to take one in the 1st, because he'll still be cheap enough with Mooney and Claypool due paydays.
-
Hunt is a Montgomery clone to me. Not as tough to bring down, but similar lack of 2nd gear that's not a great fit for outside zone runs. I do like Singletary from Buffalo and Miles Sanders from the Eagles though. If you want experience in the offense, Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr can both fly from Miami.
-
I just want something else "fun" with this offense. Fields is fun on his own, but another gamebreaker would be awesome. It's probably not happening at WR since the draft isn't great there and they are locked in with Mooney and Claypool for at least 2 years. It's probably not happening at TE with Kmet. So, RB is a place where I would like a fun little splurge. I don't think Barkley will really be available. Jacobs will probably cost just as much at this point with the season he's having. I wonder if a guy like Tony Pollard will walk from Dallas. IDK if they can get out of Elliot's contract yet, but he'd be fun. Also, if they are able to trade down and get a bunch of picks, I like the thought of using one on Jamyhr Gibbs from Alabama, who is a smaller RB that can fly and is a legit weapon receiving out of the backfield. The thought of Fields with a low 4.4 speed RB also capable of taking a zone read to the house is intriguing.
