  1. I have approximately a 1.7% hope for the Bulls being interesting next year.
  2. Does Ballesteros have any better shot at sticking at catcher than McGeary? I feel like the answer is yes, but that's like a 3% chance compared to 0.1%
  3. Right. And my point is that Bedard has been that far ahead of Fantilli, who is himself worthy of #1 pick status most years.
  4. Brock, For people coming to the site, how would they know about the roster page without finding this thread? Same thing with the prospect rankings? Is there a primary link I'm just not seeing someplace?
  5. I was meaning that Fantilli's prospect status now would have qualified him as the #1 pick in previous years. Not that he would have gone #1 as a 15/16 year old.

  7. The TV gaffe made it worse, which is awesome.
  8. You said 10 years. There's nobody in the next couple drafts at Bedard's level, So in 10+ years after McDavid, he's the best prospect.
  9. The #2 pick in this draft is a guy who very likely would have gone #1 pretty easily in the past few drafts. But there's no doubt that Bedard has clear separation over him as the #1 pick. He's had 100 goals - goals, not points - in his 83 games played this year. I won't say "generational", but he's really, really good.
  10. I started to reply to that, then decided I didn't want to get into a semantics debate
  11. They have to spend to get to the salary floor.
  12. The only scenario I can see where I'd trade the pick is if Anaheim offered #2, #33 & next year's first. That's probably enough to make the the gap between Bedard and Fantilli.
  13. Now the question becomes what they do next year. They'll probably have both Korchinski, Bedard and some other young players on the ice, so it's tough to believe they'll be immediately good. Do they maintain the patient approach or use their cap space to sign top FA and bring in players via trade? I'm really hoping they learned their lesson from the all-in days with Bowman. Don't try to suck as hard as possible again, but take a measured approach to building.
  14. Or, you know, it was taped and someone screwed up the editing.
  15. If florida hangs on to their 3-0 series lead, the Hawks will draft #1 & #19
  16. Yeah, it's just going to add to the conspiracies. It's great.
  17. Let the conspiracy theories begin!!!!!
  18. I'm counting more on signing some of the guys already available. We've got a pile of money that we have to spend somehow.
  19. The Bears still have a pile of money that they have to spend to get to the minimum. There are a bunch of good pass rushers out there and there will still be some additional cuts. https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-2023-free-agent-rankings-edge-defender Not to mention that they could still make trades for guys like Young or Sweat. On offense, they've massively improved the WR room, significantly improved the line, and improved the TE & RB. On defense, they've added athletes at DT, and improved at the third CB. The only position not improved so far is DE and that's likely where they spend their remaining money that, once again, has to be spent. They're going to be a much better team this year.
  20. And I've hated them all, really. My Lions friends hate them even more.
  21. I want Adebawore more than any other player left on the board, but I don't think we have to move that high to get him.
  22. What if we just did a whole sub-forum titled "Guess what an idiot with..."?
  23. If Fields is the same guy but with more yardage and fewer sacks, he's going to be one hell of a QB.
  24. I think my dream outcome for tomorrow is Adebawore, Schmitz & White. But all three would have to fall to get them. The other two are at least reasonable in that range. If Adebawore is still on the board at 53, I'd prioritize him first.
