  1. I thought about doing the research, but figured it would take too long. It is incredibly rare for a team to get 30+ starts from five starters in a year. Someone will go down at some point. Now, if you feel that Warren is ready and able to step in and contribute well, that's a different answer. Sort of. More like I feel like between Jake, Lester, Lackey, Hendricks and even Hammel, this team can absorb having to spot start some guys and still win the division. Once they get to the playoffs, the rotation in place is more than sufficient. In short, sure another starter would be great, but the need is not worth the assets required. If you feel about Javy the way that sneaky feels, then it is a great deal if you can use him as the primary piece in a deal for a starter.
  2. I actually had no idea that JBJ has been so good. yeah he just had almost a 30 game hit streak iirc Yep, 29 games.
  3. Heart of the order, third time through. I predict runs.
  4. Honestly, it doesn't do that much to the odds if we've got all our guys. If we're comparing having an additional TOR arm to having to start Warren or Wood? Honestly, it probably still doesn't move the needle that much.
  5. what's funny is that's not even true if you go by BA which you would think someone like tim kurkjian would do but he's 3rd in wOBA and wRC+ http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=bat&lg=all&qual=y&type=8&season=2016&month=0&season1=2016&ind=0&team=3&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0&sort=15,d Too slow. :)
  6. I just don't understand why starting pitching is such a need on this team. Get a lefty specialist and call it a day. Barring anything unforeseen, of course. i guess because the only way to make this team any more super freakish is to replace one of our back end guys with a TORP. or i guess you could put lucroy at C and/or braun in LF Hammel has been pretty lucky so far. Not only is he due for regression towards what is peripherals would predict, but a return of leg issues is very worrisome.
  7. He's been third behind Ortiz and JBJ

  9. It's gotta be a matter of time before more damage is done. We're just missing on a bunch of these.
  10. So, uh, Zobrist smoked that ball, too. Different game if that one and Heyward's both fall in.
  11. I think KB was expecting that curveball in this at bat.
  12. Doubled his 2nd PA. Vogelbach did, as well.
  13. Mookie Betts with another two home runs tonight, giving him five in two days.
  14. Someday, I really want to see how Vogelbach gets a triple.
  15. four straight strikeouts for Zobrist? How does that happen? That curve looks sharp.
  16. Yeah, it seems like Bryant's been scuffling a bit the past few days.
  17. Whoa...two more k's for Underwood in the fifth. Let's not go crazy big guy!
  18. Willson walked in the first.
  19. Yeah, we should be able to score off Bolsinger. I'm not worried. We've got this.
  20. What a [expletive] draft this is turning out to be......Schwarber in the first. Stinnett isn't great in the 2nd, but he's got a chance to make the majors, I guess. Zagunis in the 3rd is a steal. Sands and Steele were great overslots to grab in the 4th and 5th, both obviously have rotation upside still. Got Cease in the 6th, our best shot at a top of the rotation arm......That's more than enough to be considered a great draft...... But they also plucked Ryan Williams in the 10th(with a 1,000 bonus lol), Chesny Young came in the 14th too. For that matter, finding Jason Vosler in the 15th and Brad Markey in the 19th is pretty fun. Hedges and Null may even be slightly more than org guys possibly. At any rate, they [expletive] killed it. Yeah, that's damn solid.
  21. Underwood actually whiffed two in the fourth. Stop the presses.
  22. Oh yeah... The good: Underwood actually has 3K in 3IP The bad: He's allowed 6H, 1HR & 4ER
