I mean he must be doing something right he is the starting shortstop on probably the best team in the NL Central. The best team in a bad division isn't impressive, and all that does is tell you how good the rest of the lineup is if they are still the best despite having Theriot playing every day. I hate having a guy hitting .322 in my line up good call Ok I lied, I'm going to say something. How long do you expect him to keep this up? Be honest. He has been doing if for a month now. next month when he is still hitting over .300 what are you going to say? He can never be good enough for you I can tell that already. He was hitting .300 May 19th last year, and finished .266, and in the minors he hit .252, .249, .273(IN A+ BALL AT AGE 24!!), he didn't have even a respectable average in the minors til he was 25 years old... Cedeno hit .355 in AAA at age 22, and then .359 at age 24... So to compare their age 22 seasons, Ryan Theriot was down in A ball hitting .252, while Cedeno was in AAA hitting .355, Cedeno is so much better this shouldn't even be a discussion.

Funny because I like guys who hit over .300 and get on base. Like the best short stop on the team, Ronny Cedeno? Oh but he hits for power in addition to those things, that must be why you don't like him. Remember when we gave Ronny a chance at short in 2006? No sir I am not I read this site all the time I just dont get why people give Ryan such a hard time We wouldn't be hard on him at all if his manager had half a brain and let him be the utility guy. We don't like that we have a decent bench player as our every day short stop, especially with all the god awful base running goofs and bone headed plays that Ryan makes look so routine.

I was there Friday, AWESOME CONCERT!!!! and i thought "theriot for leadoff" was the worse thing i read in this thread. He has an Alter Bridge picture in his sig, sorry if you don't like the band. He has been a flat out stud and has had a noticeable change in his approach at the plate, and has better range and a better arm than Theriot. Plus, all teams should give up on a their young guys who struggle early, I don't understand why the D-Backs are still giving Upton and Drew chances after how they played last year, it's just dumb, they have no chance of getting any better, none at all!

he has an .844 OPS and this was his first error of the season. i'm pretty sure a player like that has some usefulness to a team. thank God you're not the cubsGM, that's all i can say. Haha, true, I hate the short sided people who want to throw away Fontenot and Theriot. They can be useful, just not in their current roles. Fontenot and Theriot should be on the bench with Pie and Cedeno playing every day, unfortunately it's the other way around, which makes people hate them, even though they would be very useful as bench players. Fontenot isn't going to be an every day player, and E-Pat could be the heir to DeRosa at 2nd, so you don't call him up to play on the bench. The thing that bothers me is that there are a handful of people on this message board who alone capable of writing out the lineup better than Lou.
