  1. well, yeah, i mean, that's kind of been the basic idea and general understanding, ever since the moment he was acquired Dude doesn't think before he posts. Don't let it bother you.
  2. I actually like Keith Law, but it's still fun to go back and read this now. I'd wait until Hendricks does it in the majors, in games that matter, over a decent sample, before I spike that particular football. I don't think Hendricks is going to sustain his performance from last year, but I believe he's already shown enough to think he's clearly much better than the description Keith gave. A fifth starter in scouting terms is a pretty uninspiring pitcher.
  3. Pretty exciting article. We can't hit on all of our top prospects can we? At least one of Baez, Alcantara, Almora, and Schwarber (as a catcher) will definitely bust. Didn't Hendry draft Baez and Alcantara? If you take them out of the equation the list of is pretty impressive. Also, there is no law that any of them have to fail unless you ascribe to Kyle logic. They don't have to fail, it's just incredibly unlikely that none of them will.

  5. I actually like Keith Law, but it's still fun to go back and read this now.
  6. I just can't get that excited about a guy with his defensive profile and a .429 SLG in high-A. He needs to hit a lot more to be more appealing than at least a few more of the guys left on the list. I don't have much faith in him becoming even an average regular.
  7. his ADP is 148th, but his ZiPS isn't really much different than Donaldson (ADP: 21), so it really boils down to how much you want to ensure getting him Bryant vs. Donaldson 82/26/91/ 7/.265 (147 G) 91/29/96/10/.256 (132 G) Sneaky, I seem to remember you not being as high on Bryant as others in the past, for K reasons (goes along with your general view on strikeouts, see: sneaky talking about Javier Baez). Have you changed your mind on him at all, and do you still think Soler will be the better of the two? ETA: I agree with you on K's btw, wasn't saying I thought they don't matter, but I think there's a point when production is so good that the K's can be overcome, like what Bryant has done since becoming a pro.
  8. Not only should we wait to see what we have in Baez, but it might be a good idea to make sure Russell is as good as advertised in the ML. He certainly looks like a future ML star, but other top prospects have failed at the ML level. I see your point, but I have very little confidence in K-ez. Seriously though Russell, looks different than a normal prospect, similar to Bryant, he should just learn on the job in the bigs, seems to have a good eye.. You don't believe in Baez, but then you want to trade Castro? Hmm.
  9. Again, no way in hell. I'm not against trading Castro for the right return, but that's almost certainly not the right return. Way too much risk involved with a pitcher that age, who has reportedly dealt with arm trouble. It just gets even worse when you consider how amazing Castro's deal is.
  10. I still almost can't believe we got Addison Russell. Like...god damn.
  11. YOU CAN DO BETTER Try "FBI surveillance van" Were any of you at the SABR Analytics Conference? Because I've never seen anyone use this before, and then today during the conference that exact name showed up on my wifi list lol.
  12. Contract being considered, I actually think I'd rather have Bryant at this point than Stanton. It's a very tough call though.
  13. not to mention the huge question mark at 2B Exactly, just as easily move one of Castro or Russell to 2B, let Bryant be a 50 win player at 3B lol.
  14. Castro and Russell cover SS and 3B. Bryant to LF.
  15. Napgate got us Kyle Hendricks. So, I guess that's a point in his favor in hindsight.
  16. I think I'm having a stroke or something. I read that as "Batman content" for a good while...I was literally waiting for the Batman theme to start during the hype video. Wow.
  17. Lol hate you. jk <-- idiot. Law clearly wouldn't have said that. ETA: I've been dying of the plague for a week now, so I'm using that as my bs excuse for being dumb.
  18. Did he change it? I'm seeing:
  19. Notable things: - Bryant projected at 2 WAR in 199 PA. Soler, 2 in 583 PA. Baez, 0.9 in 520 PA. - The catchers combine for 2.1, Rizzo 3.8, Castro 2.7. - Jackson projected to lead the team in starts (33), and put up a -0.7, while Hendricks is projected to make only 8 starts and put up 1.0. - Lester at only 2.2 in 29 starts. Arrieta 1.1 in 29 starts. - Projected for 82 wins.
  20. is that true? I think "likely" is too much, but he's got the physical tools to be above average, so it's definitely possible he becomes one.
  21. I'd be terrified of him educating anyone I cared about. Sorry if that's too personal, but damn.
  22. Haha, bringing up an old conversation that you were wrong about to begin with? You admit you aren't very talented with the English language, so this is probably a time to just try to play it off as you not understanding a word properly, if you want. Back on topic, as it has been pointed out, Bryant has outfield experience. It's unlikely he completely forgot how to play the outfield in the past couple of years, so he would probably be more comfortable in the OF than Russell, in addition to Russell being the better infielder. I'd much rather have Bryant in LF and Russell at 3B in any situation, midseason transition or not.
