  1. Maybe light a fire under someone's ass. Make them respond to that perceived slight of manhood. Fire them up to be more prideful? Quit trying to be everyone's freaking friend Dusty, and call em out. Kissing everyone's but and trying to paint a rosy picture isn't changing anyone's views. I want dusty to say "we've been horrible. We haven't been good. Our pitching has sucked, our hitting has sucked. Our fundamentals have been piss poor, and these guys need to respond". Don't try to tell me it's simple, and this is just bad luck, ane we're hitting it good.
  2. 1) Quit trying stupid stuff like Sac bunting all game long 2) Quit playing crappy players like Bynum for Murton 3) No, nothing is going good. 4) There isn't anything you can do about it, because you're a crappy manager and this is a crappy team 5) If it's so simple, then do something. I wonder what it's like to not even have to take Acid or Mushrooms and get the delusions and hallucinations that Baker experiences daily?
  3. Words were exchanged, I'm guessing, regarding the airmail throw in the 1st that allowed Cameron to move to 2nd. I caught only the tail end, so I don't know for sure if he was "chewing". Wait a minute, Juan Pierre OVERTHREW somebody? Alert the media! He also hit the ball into the outfield on the fly, and his basehit was in the air just over second base. He's totally juicing.
  4. I'm not sure Hill needs much more ML tryouts. He needs a second pitch. Until he gets one, he's gonna suck. Gooz though has the stuff. He just has no control. Once he can hone his location and control, he'll be VERY good.
  5. Much like you goony, I'm looking at the whole "Will Baker get fired" issue with skeptical hope... It's just a big tease. He isn't going anywhere but all this talk about it, sure has my hopes up really high.
  6. Wood, and the very slow momentum behind the Dusty/Fired story is about it. That the the next inevitable personel move, whether it's a big trade, minor trade, or another callup of a utility man. I hear we're in the market for a speedy middle infielder, who can't get on base!!!! Fixed your post.
  7. Who's going to Iowa to give us reports? Wood is about the only exciting thing going on with this team right now.
  8. Well at least he's helping Marshall right now. I don't think it's a coincidence that Marhall is attached to his hip and is displaying a great deal of poise and craftiness on the mound. Obviously he has the stuff, but I think he's learning a great deal from Greg. I think once we get Prior back, we'll be able to move Maddog.
  9. We are a stinking, festering pile of crap and I get to watch it tonight. Joy.
  10. He'd have to waive his NTC right? You think he wants to move around at this point in his career? I wasn't aware he has a NTC. My bad. He doesn't have one. My bad.
  11. He'd have to waive his NTC right? You think he wants to move around at this point in his career? I wasn't aware he has a NTC. My bad. Maybe he doesn't. I thought he did though.

  13. agreed. He would have to really turn it on to get the kind of money to better his contract. You mean like he's doing now, and like he did last year?
  14. Ahh the delusional Cub mantra. I know it well and it's a lie unless some major organizational changes are made with this team from scouting, to secondary coaching, to managing to GM'ing.
  15. If he's struggling when Lee comes back do the Cubs actually have the balls to come out with this lineup: Walker Cedeno Lee Aramis Barrett Murton Jones Pierre Pitcher? He's awful, and his killing this team when we have better leadoff guys available. I know right now we can't move him due to personell moves, but could you see them making such a drastic move? IF Pierre doesn't leadoff well, he's worthless - he might not even be a good 8th hitter.
  16. No way in hell we get Wright. We could leverage Diaz or Nady away from them with some pitching.
  17. that's not the logic at all. you definitely don't want to dictate to them tho. People are in leadership/management positions for a reason. If the organization allowed Wood to assess and decide for himself last year, I'm concerned for the organization. I'd much rather have a player be mad and sit than a player get worse and waste even more salary. Fires are better off prevented. This isn't a case of who makes more at the office, this is the case of the guy writing the checks getting to make the decisions, even if his employees make more than him. Its quite simple - he who writes the checks makes the rules. Yep. and ALWAYS.
  18. the one they showed on BBTN was nasty. I wish there was some video I could look at to cheer me up.
  19. This team blows donkey balls, I'm outta here. Have a good night all.
  20. not comparable whatsoever. enlighten me as to the difference. omg. is bochy shutting him down for the year? and young sucks. heck bochy might make as much as him. :) young sucks? He was bad in Texas but who isn't? He's a pretty talented pitcher who is emerging.
  21. nope. really old rule. Alright, anybody wanting to know what happened who isn't watching or listening to the broadcast doesn't know what happened, and what if he scores the tying or go ahead run in a game? He's still the worst hitting player (with qualified numbers) in baseball history? What do I win? I can't wait to see Neifi drive in or score a game winning run and see nothing. That will be hilarious. Don't hold your breath. And Just because Neifi might drive in a tying or go ahead run, doesn't make up for the other 99 percent of his absolute crapiness that is the worst in the history of MLB. Blind squirrels can find acorns.
  22. now you're trolling. I thought he was using humor to point out the ridiculousness of CubfaninCA assertion that just because a player gets paid more, means he should get to decide what he does, even though the franchise invests the money in him and should call all shots that might affect his future health and well being. I said "depends on the situation." Pretty convienient caveat. Is that when ever you decide the situation applies?
