  1. Aren't you the one who said Prior was 'a girl' or soft because he wasn't playing? Perhaps you shouldn't be the one throwing stones. I said he was soft, then 8 posts later, I retracted my statement and said I was wrong. Thanks for playing though.
  2. The guy can't talk without swearing. Someone should let him know how [expletive] he sounds.
  3. Wait, who says Wood has a stubborn attitude and questionable work ethic? wood has refused to change his delivery (which probably has alot to do with his inability to stay healthy) for several years now. i guess he made some progress on that front this year but it looks like too little too late. as far as his work ethic goes, that is an assumption on my part. he seems to have gotten out of shape the last few years and gained some weight. not every pitcher can be like clemens but he is way too young to be slacking off in the conditioning department imo. that's a pretty baseless and stupid assumption. God this sucks. I am uber depressed. I guess I will always have that game 7 HR against the Marlins to give me chills - "Kerry Wood plays longball" My favorite player ever on the Cubs, and his career with us will fizzle to an end.
  4. God that would be great. That would mean little or no chance on relying on Wood again next year! YAY!! Will you be saying this when he goes somewhere with a competetent pitching coach and performs like he did in 1998 and 2001-2003?
  5. No mention of this from Len, only that Wood started to feel fatigued after 60 pitches. Just different words. Len said he didn't feel good after 60 pitches. He didn't feel "something". Way for the original poster to spin it negatively. He said he felt fatigued. I guess that's "something", but historically, in the past, "something" constituted an injury or tightness. Let's remember he's 5 starts removed from Shoulder surgery, it might take a little more playing time to get back to normal status and normal recovery status. Then again, we can insinuate his "bad" character and spread BS lies about him breaking boomboxes even though he came on the radio and unequivocally denied doing that and/or talk about how he's a joke and should retire at 28 or 29. Whatever. From reading the previous posts it seem that the original poster wasn't putting spin on it. He put the word "something" in quotation marks, so it seems that that is the way Santo referred to it. At least that is what I'm getting out of it. Well he didn't really feel something, he felt fatigued. Which isn't good btw, but it's better than feeling a twinge or something like that. I guess you have to blame Santo for that report. You are correct sir, I retract my statement regarding the spin on the original post.

  7. I think Fred's doing play by play for himself. Was that 10 posts in a row? Vance - Switch over to the NBA finals.
  8. is happening this week. Sox vs. Cards. I'd rather slit my wrist than cheer for either of these teams in the series. Then again, I'd rather slit my wrist than watch the Cubs. This sucks. :?

  10. But he said he wasn't hurt! Kerry Wood with shoulder problems? I would never believe that! Remember "They" told him that pitching in relief wouldn't hurt his arm! How about the genius move by pitching him the day before he was scheduled to have surgery? wanted to get the dude his standing ovation man, it's like when you catch a big fish, you want to be appreciated.
  11. Including Wood in those numbers isn't really fair. Coming off 3 healthy seasons in 2001 (once he was ready to start after surgery - relatively early in the season, 2002, and that great 2003, most people weren't complaining about the 3 year deal plus a 4th option year.
  12. I wish someone in the media would conveniently point out the injuries of the Cards (Rolen, Edmonds, Carpenter, Pujols) and how they don't make excuses. Maybe they would be forced to reevaluate the organizational philosophy.
  13. Pierre is barely better than Perez. Other than that I agree with you.
  14. he'd fall down a set of stairs and tear both ACL's and be out for a year and half.
  15. forget baker. Not a pitching coach, bench coach, hitting coach, trainer, bat boy, grounds crew member, NOTHING. but as long as Wrigley keeps getting filled, who cares right?
  16. that doesn't matter dude, he eats up alot of innings even though he's sucking this year. Plus that's an abberation, if you ignore the 3 other years he's been awful, he's been ok.
  17. He's trying to say he doesn't care what actual factual statistics you come up with, he's sticking with his opinion, regardless how flimsy of evidence it's based upon. Or something like that. If you read the thread, this is a perfect post in regards to Raisin. He's saying Hernandez should be judged on what he was doing long ago and not recent history, but when it comes to Patterson, we should judge on what he is doing now beause he is a Cubs prospect and a fan favorite. I read the entire thread, and I haven't seen one argument from you based on any strong statistical basis for why Livan is so good. In fact, everyone has torn apart your arguments, and then you make up excuses as to why Livan is the exception to the rule. It's really easy to win debates when you can make up the rules and change them as you see fit.

  19. 1.5 years...... :puke:
  20. 2 years $6 million my friends, 2 years $6 million. Does hendry know how stupid he is?
  21. It's really to drive us all crazy. It makes me so mad I want to break things.
  22. if he stops swinging at that away pitch, he'll be an amazing hitter. He just can't stop though.
