because we have been playing .500 baseball with our current roster for the last 2 months? It was a hot streak. It got them back into contention, but to think they will sustain +.650 baseball the rest of the year is really pushing it. They havent even been over 8 games above .500 The team has to many weaknesses to sustain playing at that level for a 2-3 month timeframe. your right. team sucks. season over. good analyisis thanks for the input. I said nothing of the sort, but whatever, Im a Cubs fan and I expect failure from my team, as thats what they have done my entire life. Believe me I hope Im wrong, and IM man enough to admit it if Im wrong. We are all Cubs fans, but we all look at things differently, so why is my pessimism such a horrible thing? Its been 99 years and all 27 years of my life, and Ive never seen the Cubs in a World Series, so I think my pessimism is very warranted. Alright enough already! You're depressing... Ill post when I want to post but thanks Obviously... Sorry I didnt know differing opinions werent allowed on a message board. Jesus. Hypersensitive much? Is this women's crocheting?

Because EVEN THEN, their pythagorean showed them a good 8 games better than they were. We had horrendous luck in the first 2 months of the season (hence the plus run differential, but the minus w/l differential). Everyone knew we were better than that.

Maybe, maybe not. But anyone who suggests something as ass-backwards as the idea that the Cubs were losers because of one of the greatest players of all time deserves such a treatment. Wait people were suggesting we were bad BECAUSE of sammy? :lol: I'm not a sammy fan, but I'm able to recognize his effect on the shathole lineups he played on.

I'd rather listen to smart people intelligently criticize (and praise, when it's due) the Cubs than listen to some babbling idiot on the radio. Murphy is a tard. Who on the score gives you that? Generally speaking, I find Bernstein to be a pretty smart dude. Really? I think he's an idiot. B&B are the worst. They love to listen to themselves way too much. They are egotistical as hell, but that's because they are smart.

A 5-2 home stand would be very respectable, especially considering it's the Mets and the Phillies coming in. Respectable? A 5-2 homestand is awesome if it's against the Nationals and Pirates. If it's against the Mets and Phillies, it's nothing short of fantastic. You are 100% correct. I'm hoping for a 4-3 homestand.
