  1. Are you on drugs? He was pinch hitting for Rusch. Christ, you're hollandsworth hating is getting old, especially when it's so blatantly ridiculous and wrong. There are enough situations to get on Hollandsworth and Dusty about, you don't need to be incorrect to do it. Good lord, overreact much? He made a mistake. At any rate, we probably had a better chance for Rusch to drive the run in there. This isn't the first post. I just got sick of it. Every post somehow rips Holly. There is plenty of ripping to go around.

  3. blame falls squarely on cedeno that inning for not making contact. I hate to say that too.
  4. It's a smart move, he double switched for the last guy to hit. What's the eye roll about? I'm one of the biggest dusty critics here, but who would you like him to have switched out?
  5. If you have a built in wireless card (most new laptops (last 3 years or so) do) then you don't have to pay anything. Infact, I'm leeching bandwith right now. However, someone has to have a wireless router for it to work.
  6. He's a young horse, he's got one more inning in him.
  7. It's a soft tossing Lefty with a High ERA, we are impatient and suck against them.
  8. I agree, but since Neifi is Dusty's butt-buddy, I'm just happy to see Cedeno and murton in the same game at the same time.
  9. This lineup would be perfect if Walker was in and Perez was out. Hairston Walker Lee Ramirez Barrett Burnitz Murton Cedeno Pitcher. But I do realize T-Walk needs a day off.
  10. No worries, I got a little sensitive. I certainly believe talking to vets helps. I do not believe that Murton is not intelligent enough to both play and talk to vets at the same time. He seems like a heady ball player capable of multitasking. I'm sure talking to players has helped him, but can't he play, and still talk to players while not batting? The ONLY time Murton plays now is against a Lefty, If dusty tossed him out against lesser righty's, and benched him against the studs, I'd have zero problem. But ONLY playing against lefty's is not going to help him hit righties. You can only talk and learn so much, at some point you need to be thrown into the pool and see if you can swim.
  11. So you're saying that seniors are offended by vulgar language, and therefore have less of a right to enjoy themselves at a game? Maybe the word "sucks" is pretty low on the offensive scale, but I really disagree with the rest of your post. That's what is great about this country. We can disagree. And I vehemently disagree that "sucks" is a vulgar word.
  12. I wonder if you'll have that same opinion if you're watching your son/daughter play and overhear parents saying they suck. Are you seriously, and I mean seriously, comparing labeling professional athletes who make millions and play at the highest level with peoples young children including my future son or daughter? If I overheard someone mentioning that my 8 year old son "sucked" that would surely be different in my mind, than fans chanting derisively when an opponent comes into the game to bat or pitch. Once again, are you SERIOUSLY making this leap in argument?
  13. Really? You think they'd do that and that it would work? Wouldn't all of that just contribute to drawing attention to it, like in your last sentance? This is one of those things that is just unfortunate. I doubt there's really anything that can fix it. I'm just saying if Dusty was that insulted by it, if he truly feels that it detrimentally affects his ability to bring players to Chicago, then he could have had an announcement made at the game to address those who actually were being insulting. Laying down a quote in the paper doesn't ensure that those same people will get the message. I for one would laugh at that announcement until there were tears in my eyes. Could you imagine, the Yankees making an announcement to not mock Pedro, or the Red Sox making an announcement to not heckle Yankees players?
  14. Man if "Sucks" is now considered Vulgar and wrong, the Christian Extremist Right really is having a profound effect on this country. This is BASEBALL, not Seniors Bingo. Booing, Heckling, Chanting the opposing players names, are ALL acceptable. There is a line, but using the word "Sucks" is not it.
  15. adequate defense? I'd say he's had Stellar Defense.
  16. I disagree. When a player is young like Murton and is developing, it is best that he gets to play everyday and to develop and mature as a player. You don't learn much sitting on the bench. He will have to hit righties some day, he needs to play now. You probably need to read the story from yesterday's game. According to Murton, it sounds as if he's learning a lot in games when he sits. Well what's he going to say? I need to play against Righty's but Dustbin won't let me? Of course he's gonna say he's learning alot. He's a rookie with no pull. Just like a little lemming in an office that never contradicts the boss. Also, I really don't see Francouer and the rest of the bunch sitting in Atlanta and watching. They play, and they play alot. further, it's not like Holly's tearing it up in the least bit. I love when fans can only retort, "what's he going to say" when what is quoted doesn't coincide with their argument. Yeah, there's no way Murton learns anything while on the bench even though cameras have shown him talking with players. Yeah, the kids in Atlanta are playing, but so is a dinosaur like Franco. I wonder if you'd even know their names if we hadn't played the Braves? I wonder if you were the manager and they went 1-30 would you had stayed with them or benched them? See, our decisions never get seen so we don't get to critique your ideas. I don't like Hollandsworth and it ticks me off that he's still striking out on pitches he struck out on eight and nine years ago. But I'm done griping about Hollandsworth because I did it ever since he was promised more playing time by Hendry and Baker. I also recognize that Murton's success so far has been because he's hitting only against lefties. His five strikeouts in 10 at-bats against righties leads me to believe that he should slowly get worked in against righties. I don't want to see him against Schmidt, Clemens, Oswalt, Carpenter, etc. I love when fans can't acknowledge the majority of "quotes" to the media are vanilla coated crap that don't mean anything. Questions are asked and the same trite responses are given time and again. I most assuredly would have known about the Braves youth, since they are fluffed nightly on Baseball Tonight, and i'm a baseball addict. But if you respond, please tell me what the hell that has to do with anything, other than trying a personal dig against me (a person you know NOTHING about). I also love how fans just make crap up about what they think other fans are advocating in order to make themselves look better. I never once said I wanted murton playing against Clemens or Carpenter, or Oswalt or any stud right hand pitchers. But last time I checked, Tomko wasn't Clemens, Carpenter or Oswalt. OR was he Dalgreen? I said he needed to play more, unless we are against an Ace, or #2 pitcher, I want Murton playing against EVERYONE. He can still talk to people in the dugout while they are batting.
  17. People will argue that the Cubs are winning in spite of Dusty, not because of him. It's a circular argument really.

  19. These two other guys I know also set aside their power in order to get on base: Wade Boggs and Ichiro Suzuki. Imagine that, players who have the ability to hit for power, but want to be better all-around players, so they cut down on their swing in order to do what they can to get on base... I have an ugly feeling where this comment could go, starting with C and ending with Y.
  20. For those of us who weren't around, what was that thread created in response to?
  21. And Dempster nails Burny with a pie
  22. Murton RBI regardless of what happens!!!!!!
  23. Dusty makes a GOOD decision. I might collapse.
  24. Can Murton play RF? He should PH for Burnitz here. OF course dusty is an imbecile so it won't happen, but it would be smart.
