  1. god that was awesome. I didn't remember the state of pandemonium that that HR put the Wrigley crowd in. Come'on Kerry, I want you back.
  2. In the most heterosexual way possible..... I LOVE Kerry Wood.
  3. Bobby Abreu Then what are we waiting for? Thank god Hendry isn't stupid enough to trade a 25 year old Prior for a 30+ expensive Abreu.
  4. despite that result, barrett's hitting/seeing the ball well .
  5. This thread very well could end up being, one of the best threads in NSBB history. It has that much potential.
  6. I love threads like these on NSBB.com. It's like the Macias released thread. There's just pure unbridled joy amongst EVERY NSSBaller. No bickering, no arguing. Just great. Hell yeah! :D
  7. You always play the role of valium on these type threads. It's quite welcome.
  8. That made me laugh for some reason.
  9. He wouldn't have gone from sub 40 to 73 that's for sure.
  10. Why does he have to rip him? There's no reasont to write an article about Prior that rips him, because he hasn't done anything worth ripping. This looks like the quintessential, "treat the good quote well, and pick on the guy who won't talk to me" column. It's like a less brazen version of Jim Rome, who will kiss the butt of any player who calls into his show, no matter how bad, but will rip to shreds so many others. It's pretty ovious to me that if he said it to his face, he was joking. I don't think the article ripped him, I found it to have an almost fatherly tone, trying to encourage and hope for a more happy Prior.
  11. why moe, larry, and curly of course
  12. can't disagree with you here. I almost threw up in my mouth when I saw that Neifi signing.
  13. between Daley/city counsel and Wrigley being listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, the coy disguises are necessary. there are many politicians telling them what they cannot do with their building, so they have to jump through the hoops and do what they can. Exactly, and if they ever did build a modern stadium, they'd have to do so in a boring suburb somewhere. I don't care about the physical structure of Wrigley nearly as I do the location. I love that the stadium is in a great neighborhood in the middle of the city. So many other ballparks are glorified rest stops on the side of a highway, or part of a city's industrial area, surrounded by abandoned or broken down buildings. I hope they keep improving Wrigley bit by bit in it's current location, because I don't want to drive to a McBallpark in Naperville in the future to see the Cubs. ne'er truer words been spoken.
  14. Who cares? It's discreet and it's the world we live in. Don't you have better things to worry about this team than them selling naming rights to the bleachers? Or is it just another area for you to criticize? Why do you care what I worry about? If there's something I like or don't like about the Cubs organization it makes sense to post it on a Cubs board. Last time I checked NSBB.com was a Cubs board. You have a tendency to call out a lot of people on this board who openly criticize the Cubs. I don't know what your story is and frankly, I don't care but there are a lot of things I don't like what this organization does. You actually think it's the organizations idea? I would bet both my limbs it's straight down from the Tribune Company. I don't know from whom it's coming from. I personally believe that Wrigley Field because of its landmark status and the fact it is one of the oldest stadiums out there should not be touched. I'm not a fan of the restaurant/bleachers upgrades they have done. IMO some things are best left alone and I think Wrigley is one of those places. Well to me, it reeks of the Tribune Company. Their stock is down, they are looking for ways to make money, this seems to be an easy way. I don't think the Cubs themselves are struggling for money, I really would alot of money this is a decision from the very top down. Which is why the Cubs need to be sold. I mean I don't like it myself, but I don't really care, and I'd rather they field a winning playoff team than focus on naming rights to their bleachers.

IT seems you hate everything about the Cubs, and you just come on here to rail them about EVERYTHING. 99% of your posts are negative. It's one thing to have criticism, I more than certainly do, it just seems all you want to do is rip them about everything, including decisions that probably aren't even theirs. But whatever makes you a happy person.

  17. Does the number he's at matter after a few weeks? Yup. It means a few more innings as Prior, Wood, and Miller show up (hopefully). I doubt they return at the same time. Well when they come back, if he's struggling, they can sub him out. It doesn't matter that he's "#4", that's in name only.

  19. 1) My team sucks 2) I'm in an NL-only league so pickin's are slim 3) I want to take him and stash him on my bench in case he turns into a stud.
  20. He already was added to the 40 man to avoid the Rule V Draft, as I recall. Well then, when are 25 man opening rosters typically finalized (i.e Miller placed on the DL, Marshall added) so I can claim him!!!
  21. When is Marshall added to the 25 man/40 man? I want to add him to my fantasy league, but he's not listed as an available player on fantasysports.yahoo.com
  22. I know it takes into account Ballpark factors...
