But you have to realize, Lelie isn't reporting to camp anytime soon, and he's a FA after this year I believe. It's a cap move and a team morale move. Fourth round picks aren't trash anymore (Nathan Vasher anyone?), and Michael Haynes has never been given a chance here in Chicago. It's definitely a better deal for the Bears, but it makes sense for Denver too. Talk about selling low...if Denver would've traded Lelie in the offseason, they could've gotten so much more for him rather than just a 4th round pick and Michael Haynes. Michael Haynes is a bust, plain and simple...I don't think a change of scenery will help him out that much. If I were Denver, I would probably request at least a 2nd round pick for Lelie. Yeah, they screwed up. They asked for Jones, which Angelo turned down, and were rumored to want a 1st round pick, but no one would give them that. I hope Angelo can pull this deal off.
