  1. we deserved that second pick. that's what you get for calling plays to mckie.
  2. Cutler might leave the game today with 30 picks on the season.
  3. Missed this one, but it's nice to see a win in a hard-fought, back-and-forth game. Beat Detroit.
  4. Hendry isn't fighting for his job. He's gone after this year. He was gone before he made the Bradley trade.
  5. We're going to end up with Podsednik. 2 years/$12M
  6. He was a PR nightmare on the team that cares more about PR than almost any team in sports. You don't have to like it, but it doesn't make it untrue. That still doesn't make it something that they have to do. How would this "PR nightmare" effect the team? The Cubs stunk last year because 2B turned into a black hole offensively for much of the season, Soto was fat, hurt and awful/had a ton of bad luck and Soriano was bad and playing hurt. Bradley definitely got off to an ice cold start offensively but ended up being a productive player. People aren't going to stop buying tickets and merchandise because of Milton Bradley. Milton Bradley can't make his teammates play worse. Never at any point has moving him beein something they had to do. Who gives a [expletive] if he doesn't like the fans? BECAUSE HE WAS A DISTRACTION IN THE MEDIA, TO HIS MANAGER AND HIS TEAMMATES. NOBODY LIKED HIM AND NOBODY WANTED HIM AROUND. IT WAS A BUSINESS DECISION THAT HE HAD TO BE REMOVED FROM THE CUBS PERFECT, HAPPY, FUZZY, STUPID EXISTENCE. That's just how that [expletive] works. My god, you're a [expletive] loon.
  7. You know how DodgerBlues' transactions board is called "Pedro for Delino?" Well, can we change the name of this board to "Bradley for Silva?"
  8. silva doesn't even deserve a chance. he's terrible. plus, when has Rothschild ever been a miracle worker? If we had Dave Duncan I might not be freaking out, but we don't, and I am.
  9. I just hope we hire a GM who is able to get players who "play the right way" for Ryno next year.
  10. Ok genius, so what do you do other than this trade since you seem to know what options were out there. If you release him, you dont get the 6 million that you just saved. And again, not sure how anyone can assume he'll be in the rotation, especially coming off injury and with those numbers. Given the injury and those numbers, I don't know how anyone could've thought we were going to trade for him. But we did. He'll start.
  11. You think the guy chooses which conference he wants to coach in over which team he wants to coach for? I'd say that conference has an impact, yes. The team is obviously the top choice but things like history, conference, rivalries, etc., all go into the persona of that team.
  12. You'd be hard pressed to find either of them throw a temper tantrum. Wouldn't surprise me to see Pinkel retire earlier than he intended if Mizzou were to move to the Big 10. Anderson would be able to land a job at a major basketball program, and while he may have no interest in it now, I could see him pursuing it more if Mizzou switched. But yes, lolz temper tantrums. Why would Anderson leave? The Big Tweleven would be a much better basketball conference than the current Big 12 which you'd think would increase Missouri hoops' potential for big things. Maybe, but I think if Anderson wanted to coach in the Big Ten, he would've chosen to do so when he was leaving UAB. But I digress. In the end it's going to be about money anyways, and if the administration decides they want the money, our sports programs, most of which are reaching new levels in terms of success, will struggle for quite some time in my opinion. Anyways, it doesn't matter, we'll see what happens. Obviously I'd prefer to stay in the Big 12, but it's not like a conference change is going to affect my fandom at all.
  13. What number is Silva? I wanna beat the rush and get my jersey shirt ordered.
  14. Once this is finalized, I fully expect Hendry to resign. The last image we'll have of him is him riding away from Wrigley on a motorcycle, middle fingers in the air, with a Cardinals shirt on.
  15. since he signed with the mariners: 5-18, 6.81 ERA, 1.617 WHIP 254 hits, 139 ER in 183 2/3 innings i just puked.
  16. I already decided I'm treating them like I did the last two months last season. I'll watch them if I have absolutely nothing to do, but I will not actively take time out of my life to watch them.
  17. It's going to be awesome when Silva's ERA is higher than the money he's making next year.
  18. Man, I knew I was going to be pissed when we traded Bradley, but I had no idea how pissed I'd actually be. I really thought there was no way Hendry would move him for someone as completely worthless as Silva, but obviously I was wrong. This clown has got to go.
  19. Bobby Knight is the man.
  20. You'd be hard pressed to find either of them throw a temper tantrum. Wouldn't surprise me to see Pinkel retire earlier than he intended if Mizzou were to move to the Big 10. 21. And I do think coaches will have a lot of input. Leaving for the Big Ten when your two profitable programs are against it will be a nice, quick way to watch those coaches leave. And when we have nothing but low-level recruits coming in again because we have no pipeline states left, that'll be a nice quick way to secure a bottom of the barrel finish every year in the two major sports. Mizzou won't go anywhere.
