  1. Just saw that the Magician was back this morning. Sadly no magic.
  2. It would please me if the Cubs were to emerge victorious in the baseball game.
  3. I see 3 tommy johns in the mets future 3 guys with near HOF careers. Sounds about right. They'll sign a Cuban called Tommy John and he'll win the Cy Young as a rookie
  4. I inadvertently locked myself out of my house earlier, came back to see we had a run. I'm going outside.
  5. I really appreciated the yelling guy being mic'd up. Thanks TBS
  6. I think I rank them: 1. Schwarber @ Pitt Just the nonchalant flip, coupled with it being an elimination game against a damn good team... bliss. I think everyone watching knew we'd won the game as soon as the ball was out. 2. Baez (gm 4) Had a really bad feeling about the game after Lackey killed us in gm 1, and was pretty deflated after the top of the first. Hammel's hit immediately brought back memories of the Wood dong in 2003 (amazing, but ultimately irrelevant) and I was still processing the weird emotions swirling about when Javy hit his out. Easily the most I've celebrated any single action thus far in 2015. 3. Schwarber (gm 4) The finishing touch on a glorious series. I hope the ball stays up there for another hundred years.
  7. another lurker reporting in - been reading here for years, got the urge to post again the other day and realised I already had an account back from 2004, last post was in 2005. Long time between drinks. I'm back because I love dongs.
  8. As am I. Just as soon as I finish work in 2 hours.
  9. Are they booing Lee or booing the Cub fans cheering Lee?
  10. Z's pitch was like a foot closer to the plate than Beernuts' strike 2. dang. 1 down.
  11. I think this is a great idea, but am obviously coming from a different point of view, being an international. Every other major international sport has a World Cup/Championship, I don't see why baseball shouldn't either. I think the players will relish the chance to represent their country. You only have to look at the HR Derby yesterday to see how crazy the Venezuelans were going for Abreu. Rugby Union has only recently started having a World Cup (1987 was the first, is now held every 4 years), and it is now regarded as the biggest event in a player's career. Cricket is much the same, although the World Cup started about 10-15 years earlier.
  12. They should have had the Van Halen song playing throughout the whole time Lee was up there. On repeat.
  13. I've lost sound - what is Lee saying? People at work here on Bay - "What chance does this skinny white guy have?"
  14. ha, goes the other way, just for a laugh.
