  1. If they wanted a stud TE it was right there for them and they passed. Might be the first black mark on BJ’s record. Warren is good.
  2. I’m hoping Fickell is next. It’s gonna cost UW about $25 million to buy him out. That’s the price to bury a horrible mistake. They can’t pretend they want to be a consistent winner if they won’t eat the cost of their failure. And Mac needs to go too. He can’t be allowed to hire another football coach. He’s the guy who hatched this plan to bypass an obvious inside hire and look elsewhere. The Bears have had more than a share of these catastrophes. By comparison, Fick has lost the team like Trestman did. Nobody believes he’s up to the job anymore. It’s “dead man walking” college football style.

    NFL Week 6

Lions drew up an illegal play then tried to run it just now. They didn’t bother to take into account that the QB has to come set after stepping away from the center, before going in motion. Cost them a TD.
  4. The Cardinals are our mortal enemies. It’s not even a rivalry. There’s a special kind of hatred between us. The Brewers are rivals, fine. Not the same level as the Cardinals.
  5. Just didn’t swing the bats tonight gents. it was a good season. I had a lot of fun watching this team even with the frustrations.
  6. Looks like the Commanders are down a couple receivers. Maybe that will help our defense a bit.
  7. Gonna have to put up some crooked numbers regardless. We are here with the momentum. They are here with the pressure of having blown a 2-0 series lead. It’s a great opportunity for this ball club. Get it done.
  8. Really wanted to see Baez do some damage but nope.
  9. 15th inning now. I probably should go to bed but F it.
  10. This Tigers / Mariners game is intense. 14th inning, both teams have had golden opportunities spoiled.
  11. So happy the Cubs got off the mat and got back to this point.
  12. So the Cubs have to solve a tough pitcher to keep their season alive. Boyd has to pitch better than he did in game 1. In other words, Cubs have to play good playoff baseball. Nobody gets easy matchups at this level.
  13. I’m OK as long as he has a very quick hook.
  14. If we do start Boyd it should be with a short, short leash.
  15. I’d go Peralta if I was Murphy. They have the pitching depth to handle a game 5 with high quality arms one way or another.
  16. If they can’t add on even a single run in 8 effing innings to save the season, to hell with it. Have a nice vacation.
  17. Vaughn, as well as many of these other Brewer players, will play fine with the Brewers right now. But when they leave, they'll drop back down. There's something about what they do that gets performance from players, sometimes just for the short term, or just in a certain role which is all they need at the time. At the end of the day, the Brewers are just really good at what they do. The get excellent value, turn it into performance on the field, then keep refreshing with the same model each year, so they rarely wind up having to pay top dollar. Also notice, they don't go hog wild at the deadline either. Look at teams like the Padres, who everyone was saying did great at the deadline. The Brewers are on the cusp of the LCS and didn't spend key prospects to get there.
  18. The only time I had fellow Cubs fans everywhere was when I was growing up in Naperville. I've lived in the UP (which is like 50/50 Cubs and Brewers), Milwaukee, and now Madison WI. I can honestly say if I have to be surrounded by an enemy, it's probably Brewer fans. Except on Sundays when they turn into Packers fans. The transformation is quite amazing actually. I think it has something to do with the fact that Brewers have never won anything. If they win the WS this year, they'll be like Packer fans all week long and it will suck hard.
  19. Ehhh.......31-24 Commanders. I'm hoping for continued improvement, even on defense, which would bring the Commanders under 30 points and make this a dogfight. My hopes would be raised if we get some of our starters back. I'm looking for 3 TDs from the Bears' O. If that happens, on the road, against what is considered a quality opponent, I'm going to be happy with Caleb & crew.
