    The Bears QB situation is very similar to the 108 year WS drought situation with the Cubs. Who is the Theo of the NFL? It was when a leader who already won the championship decided to take on one of sports' greatest challenges that it finally happened. Perhaps some GM, someday, who wins the SB will think he can seal his legacy as one of the best ever by bringing top offense to Chicago and win the SB.

    it is unreasonable to expect a 2nd year qb in a new system with no talent around him and a coaching staff determined to not try, to elevate the offense around him. Fields had an impossible task that maybe only a HOF vet would be capable of achieving. It is unreasonable. I think we all wanted Fields to be the MJ of the NFL and be an unstoppable force, unfortunately we have a young QB that needs to grow into being a NFL QB. But the Bears being the Bears, they are entirely inept at doing just that. To me, that's what's frustrating. Every horsefeathering year is another year the team is somehow allowed to waddle around with their thumbs uta instead of doing what every other nfl team seems capable of doing Getsy, Poles and Eberflop aren't going to figure out Fields in time. Instead, Fields will fail, Poles will get to draft his QB who will also fail to develop and we'll be looking at a new gm in 5-7 years It's the sense of dread based on the history of the team. Poles is his own guy, so is Eberflus. It's just that we are in a deja vu cycle, a groundhog day lasting generations. There won't be any indication it will change, until one day it does. So someone simply needs to overcome all that and change the trajectory of the organization. Until we see it, it's nearly impossible have faith it will happen.

    This seems shocking to me. Wisconsin is bad, and they had a downish season last year (though they recovered really nicely from a slow start) but I didn’t think he was particularly close to the hot seat just yet. The natives were definitely restless but I thought he would get the season before any moves were made. I’m hearing some crazy buyout numbers, who knows what’s true on that front.

    Badgers just fired Paul Chryst. I guess that’s what you get when you lose to Illinois and the old coach.

    I get the pageantry but dude, why do it to yourself? Because sports helps get me through the week and I’m certainly not ready to read about the Bulls or Blackhawks. Fan however you want to fan lol We just care about you that’s all.

    Very little. He’s been coaching for a long long time and only made coordinator for three seasons. There’s a reason he wasn’t progressing. Only the Bears saw HC in him. Another boneheaded hire.

    I feel like I’m on solid ground assuming nobody is open on a lot of plays. It’s a low-tier receiving corps. Sure but Fields has been missing open guys all year and is being criticized for holding the ball too long when film is being reviewed. It can definitely be a bit of both If you’re suggesting that I’m saying fields is OK and it’s all the receivers fault, that’s not what I’m saying.

    There was nobody with *any* separation on that play. Yes we saw the replay. But not just this play. He’s already scrambled 4 times in 8 drop backs. Again I don’t know who is getting open and at least once he was pressured in a hurry I feel like I’m on solid ground assuming nobody is open on a lot of plays. It’s a low-tier receiving corps.
