  1. That's right keep working this guy. DeRosa walks.
  2. That's not a real worry for me. I don't think what you see when Cuban is being a fan is necessarily how he conducts himself when he's doing business. If he was abrasive & loudmouthed in the boardroom, I sincerely doubt he would have earned the respect of so many people, including NBA stars like Dirk, who don't need that crap and aren't inclined to take it. His players love him. That tells me Cuban is able to segment his 'super-fan' behavior out from his business sensibilities.
  3. Gracie talking us up on the post-game. Says we'll overtake the Crew in the next couple weeks. I'm not sure how I feel about him saying that.
  4. Truf, please tell me you think Soto can do better than Bowen? How can he not? Earlier in the thread the argument was being made that Soto was no better than Bowen. That's not exactly right. The argument was that Soto probably isn't much better than Bowen. Again, career minor league OPS: Soto .715 Bowen .715 Over a big sample, they're almost identical players. I'm not comfortable making many projections about Soto at all. He has little major league experience to go by. As for minor league numbers, people tend to put too much weight on them around here. What a guy does in the minors is only a partial indicator of whether or not he will experience success in the bigs.
  5. Well, I think Jonesy has found his post-baseball career: salesman. 8-)
  6. Yep....he did the Brewers/Cubs game with Grace two weeks ago. Oh, I think I missed that one for some reason.
  7. Well, that's national coverage for you. We must now cater to the casual watchers.
  8. Out of curiosity, what are the things he is saying that you aren't liking? this broadcast is just bad No argument here :) I think we're a little spoiled with Len & Bob. They've become on of the better booths in baseball. Watching some of the MLBEI games every night, I can tell you most of the broadcast teams sound more like this -- very little chemistry, boring, and alot of cliche' comments.
  9. How could we possibly be winning with Jones, Bowen, and Izturis in the lineup? We're playing the Astros? At bottom, the drama queen act when the lineup came out looks a silly now. having a good game does not replace the fact that we're in dire need of an upgrade at SS, C, and CF. Take that to Hendry, not Lou. Freaking out on a manager every game when he's clearly doing well at the moment is, indeed, uncalled for.

  11. AHHHHHHhhh.. Now I can enjoy the rest of my Saturday. This is fun.
  12. "All the way from San Antonio to see the Astros Lose" Love the sign
  13. Man, it feels so good to bitch-slap Roy like this. GO CUBS
  14. That' right Oswalt you punk!!! Come inside to ARam? Uh-uh, you pay!!!
  15. Yeah, followed by the national 'who's now' championships, and then Joan Rivers does the Red Carpet at the ESPYs. Next week it's the runway fashion shows featuring Derek Jeter and ARod. ESPN is regressing. Badly.
  16. I was happy with the drunk we had last year. You know what I mean though. If he sends the guy 50% call him an idiot if he's thrown out. If he holds a guy the other 50% is made he didn't send him. I know what you mean. But people are really never happy with anything until their team wins that 4th game in the World Series. It's not just 3B coaches.
