  1. Houston's closer is Trever Miller now? Yikes.
  2. The only surgery Z needs is some sort of brain augmentation. I still consider it a possibility there's something physically wrong. He hasn't looked like the same pitcher from previous years to me, pretty much all year.
  3. If during the offseason we find out Z needs surgery, it will come as no suprise to me at all.
  4. Thank God for Milwaukee's bullpen. That's all I've got to say.
  5. Dammit, Z has really let this team down when it needed him most. The boos are well deserved. Pitch better if you don't like it.
  6. I'm perfectly willing to get on my knees and beg Z to start pitching better. Good Lord, if ever we needed him to dominate it's now.
  7. Yeah I don't think a big UI/Mizzou argument is going to be real productive. I was just happy to see the Illini show some life for a change. I think they're on the way to better things, and considering where they are coming from I'm happy with that.
  8. Yeah it's definitely go-time now. Seems to be little question the Cards will be winning at least 3/4.......high probability of a 4-game sweep. Pirates have packed it in.
  9. Why? I don't understand why. because trachsel is not good. that's why. Marshall has been averaging less than 75 pitches per start the past month. It really seems like he needs a break. I'd rather see what Gallagher's got, but I think giving Trachsel a couple starts in Marshall's place is a good thing. I just hope that if Trachsel sucks it up they'll give Marshall the spot back after a couple times through the rotation. I thought Steve had been better lately. Anyway my main interest in this is to give Sean a little recharge, not to replace him entirely with Steve Trachsel. But, maybe they'll do exactly that, and I won't be real happy with it.
  10. Why? I don't understand why. Might it not actually give him a chance to rest and come back stronger?
  11. The season is long, so they'll have plenty of opportunities to have a productive season. However, its going to take a lot more than soul searching. This is more than getting mentally set for a game or even game planning. They just need to get better period. Offensively, they should be good all season. Defensively they have some pretty big holes. I agree they definitely have defensive issues to solve. That's going to be their big hurdle. I've got the Badgers winning it. But I still think there's a chance Michigan could pull it off. Also, I'm greedy. I want that Mich/Wisc game later on to be a showdown, because that would be alot of fun to watch if the Big 10 is really riding on it.
  12. I tend to agree with you, jigs. Sadly, it seems that the umps become ego-maniacal in their own right, and they "test" teams to see which ones will respond and which ones won't. One of the things I had hoped Lou would do was to stand up to some of these guys. And he hasn't, for the most part. That's sad. We all watch a lot of baseball -- just seems to me that the umps do this, and I was also glad to see ARam finally say something about it.
  13. The other teams in the Central are worse than us. That's just sad. Very recently, they've been slightly better though, which is making me angry.
  14. I could be dead wrong on this, but I'm thinking the Wolverines do some soul searching this week, come out and destroy Oregon, then go on to a pretty good season. I think App State was a really good team, best in div 1-AA in a long time, and Michigan just got ambushed and caught not taking it seriously. Another reason I think this is because defenses tend to take a bit of time to get going in the Big 10. I think teams like Michigan and Ohio State will start to find their defense as they go along. Really, Michigan can still win the Big 10, get a BCS berth, and come away with a very nice season in spite of this loss. They'll need to beat out the Badgers and N Lions, but it's still quite possible. I've seen the blue & gold resurrect themselves enough times. They're very ND-like in that regard sometimes.
  15. And both of those pitchers went straight into the toilet, which is some consolation. One of them (Jiminez) went right back to the minor leagues after pitching his no-no. Z had a no-hitter. It was just stolen from him by the ump that day.
  16. I slipped a little juice in Lee's wheaties this morning. Don't worry, I'm going to do it again. And again. And AGAIN.
  17. Wow that really, really helped. Lots of Crew & Cards fans just cursed under their breath. Now......Dodgers for 4. Big series.
  18. DLee has 11 home runs in 48 games post-ASB which, extrapolated over a full season would come out to 37 home runs. So it took half the year for his wrist to heal fully? wrists take forever to fully heal, both mine are still f'ed up and i havent broken either one in 3-4 years...but then again ive broken the left 5 times and the right 6What? How the heck have you broken your wrists 11 times? ehem.....that's uhhhh, private dude.
  19. That would be nice if we could change the NL rules about pinch hitters for pitchers. Oh damn PH'ing EPatt, ok. Cmon Demp, end this freaking thing.
  20. So would I, but it has nothing to do with her rally powers. She's become a celeb and doesn't even know it
  21. Damn!!! Sucks to be stuck in Dallas so I had to miss that moment! Thank you LEE!
  22. I don't think Sori would attempt a steal at this point...
  23. Was it as bad for you as it was for me?
