  1. I lost a little bit of ground this week, doubt I'll catch Vance but I'm in it for 2nd.
  2. If you ever need any advice or any questions answered just hit the PM.
  3. I didn't go over did I? I thought I was at 7.
  4. If you could get any velocity readings on Archer (and Huseby if he pitches, that'd be fantastic). Don't go by the KC radar, fwiw.
  5. Good game between Ole Miss and the underdog UVA Cavs. I'm hoping Aaron Barrett gets in the game for Ole Miss.
  6. Worst week of the season for me as my pitching has been awful, including Greinke.
  7. Don't hate on Daniels, he was just broken down when the Cubs got him, but they traded Gary Scott for him instead of FA. For me, it'll always be Jose Guzman given that he was brought in to replace Maddux, had one sub-par year and then was hurt.
  8. I can't think of any travel team in OK that was any good. I wouldn't put much stock into it though, as it might be just for the name and maybe 1 game. I'm not what you would call a fan of travel ball.
  9. Let me know if this looks right for the Chiefs upcoming games? Fri-Carpenter :( Sat-Beliveau Sun-Archer Mon-Hatley Tues-Bristow
  10. In Hill's case, Kranitz is probably better at correcting mechanical flaws than Rothschild.
  11. I'm disappointed that a Cards fan is ahead of me.
  12. I'm the one that keeps getting screwed over in that race. I've finished 2nd to Tim 3 of the last 4 weeks.
  13. They could be close to their 21st birthday as a Soph. and be draft eligible.
  14. I seen Shafer throw against ISU his final year of college and was not impressed as he hasn't been the same pitcher he was in his early WSU career, it was evident last year. It's similar to Brownlie, IMO with slightly less hype and financial commitment.
  15. Fwiw, that farm has improved dramatically recently under Wilken and recent moves around the Pacific Rim. The Cubs have likely aged past their peak w/out winning it all and Hendry had a poor off-season where the team with increasing age and players lost did not improve and likely regressed over last year. The Cubs had a mediocre bullpen at best last year and instead of improving on it, they replaced an expensive but productive part with several mediocre parts. Hendry likely rec'd maximium value for Derosa for the 3 pitchers but did not follow up with someone to replace Derosa. (Based on expected production) Miles would likely be considered a replacement for someone like Cedeno, not Derosa. Someone like Wigginton would likely have been similar replacement value for Derosa. It's extremely frustrating knowing that they went into the season with a poor bench with such a fragile roster.
  16. Leave Calipari out of this. Don't be my buzzkill.
  17. 2.5 mil. would be perfect for them, which they could likely do in their good years, the majority of the team w/winning records would love to have that. That's 30K a game. Baltimore even with the tradition and outstanding stadium isn't a threat nor a roadblock for Washington given the direction of their franchise.
  18. Agreed, the trade itself is fine by me. It's trying to replace that ability to play multiple positions on a fragile team with someone like Miles. Fontenot and Miles playing awful just compounds the problem.
  19. I'm basing it on the DC metro area of 4+ mil. (not including Balt.) & a new stadium. If they cont'd to play in RFK and cont'd to lose I would have not doubts as to whether or not they'd draw b/c they wouldn't. I'm saying with that park, that area, and a winning club, that they would draw as much as winning franchises. Some people get tunnel vision as far as trying to compare every team to the Cubs, most fans aren't as dumb as Cubs to where they'd go sell out a park to watch a crappy team. It would take time, but I could see them supporting that team and eventually build some sort of baseball foundation.
  20. No it's not as they were one of the worst teams in MLB the year before going into a FB stadium, MLB rushed the Expos into Washington and it's a completely different situation between that and a typical expansion team. The Expos were an unwanted orphan, completely botched by MLB between Montreal and Puerto Rico the year before. When they win, they'll start to draw.
  21. Washington will probably be fine, they finally have a good GM with Rizzo and will very soon have the most hyped player waiting in the wings and a decent core. They're still a couple years away from possibily becoming a contender and once that happens, you'll see whether or not it can support a market. Trying to gauge whether or not the area will support a team while it is constantly losing isn't a fair test.

    Week 8

I took out Helton and Lopez becuase they were both listed as day to day, I put both of them back in because Helton is playing and I have no other spot to put Lopez.
  24. While defense appears to be theme of the minor league followings here, Lalli is not a very good defensive C by any stretch.
  25. Samardzija too, but I was speaking as far as trade commod. and I doubt unless he feels like he'll never get a shot with the Cubs, he'll exercise that NTC.
