  1. If I knew you all were this trigger happy, I would've waited a few hours to announce that pick, just to spite all of you, espec. Chuck.
  2. Give me Aubrey Huff.
  3. I'm here, give me a minute to decide.
  4. I guess Juan is up with Tim taking Phillips.
  5. So it's a 24 hour time limit?
  6. My apologies to the teams that have a chance to win this year (minus Tim), but I have to rebuild.
  7. The sooner, the better. That shitty farm of mine ain't going to be the same.
  8. They went overboard with the Alomar hate, I thought his punishment was fair. Fwiw, Kent is better than both Sandberg and Alomar, but I agree that Alomar was better than Sandberg.
  9. R. Martin -C- exempt M. Kemp -OF- exempt U. Jimenez -SP-exempt J. Johnson -SP- exempt R. Ludwick -OF- 557.5 J. Peralta -SS-461.5 T. Glaus -3B- 473 Z. Grienke -SP- 504.5 Total 1996.5 Minors: Mike Bowden -SP- I do have two spots avail. for exempt players for draft picks.
  10. I would probably go... Berkman Wright Sizemore Martin The offense from Martin as a C is prob. worth more than the offense from Kinsler as a 2B. Liriano and Peavy have minor health concerns with Peavy also pitching for a team that will likely only go .500 when Peavy pitches and Lee has to prove he isn't a one year wonder.
  11. Forgot about this, my is in mail for sure. Sorry about that J.
  12. It is more a matter of being unrealistic as opposed to unreasonable. But carry on. By your standards, Billy Clyde won't last long either. Like I said, wanting improvement from their current state or what transpired from the previous 5 years as far as no final four showings is not unreasonable or in this case "unrealistic".
  13. And then compare 93-98 to 03-08. That's it? That Tubby was worse than Pitino? What a revelation. You can't seriously expect any coach to duplicate that Pitino stretch (which, by the way, your stretch includes a National Title won by Tubby). It's completely unrealistic. Tubby wasn't as good as Pitino -- but UK kept with that theme in also replacing Tubby with an inferior coach. Still, from 2003-08, Kentucky went 131-40 overall, 61-19 in the SEC, won two SEC regular season titles, two SEC tournament titles, one 16-0 (19-0 actually) SEC season, two elite eights and no first-round NCAA tournament losses. Again, it had to be real rough on Kentucky during that stretch. Never said it was rough, it wasn't good enough though. UK won't be as good as they were when I was there and I'm not expecting that, but they should do better than what they have rbeen ecently. Whether or not that can happen under Gillespie remains to be seen. If anyone here can't see that that is message I'm trying to convey rather than judge every coach by the standard of Pitino is their own stupidity and not mine.
  14. No, but it does show regression even from '03 to '08 or from Smith's 1st year to his final year at UK. I'm not wrong in stating my disappointment in the direction UK was heading under Smith, I fail to see how I'm being unreasonable with that. Any program that had the same previous success would state likewise.
  15. And then compare 93-98 to 03-08.
  16. I don't think I hate Tubby, obviously for what he did in 98' was outstanding. I just don't think he was enough of good recruiter for a program like Kentucky and when he did have that great class, between the egos and bad characters, he wasn't able to control it with team turmoil.
  17. 5.) Baltimore Orioles - Alex White, RHP - UNC With a prototypical build, and a nice and easy, athletic delivery, White is able to maintain his 91-94 mph fastball deep into games. He has improved the velocity and command on his fastball, a pitch that shows very good, natural late movement. As good as his fastball is, his slider is his best pitch, a wicked breaker that is nearly impossible for right-handed hitters to track when it's working at its best. He also throws a changeup, but hasn't need it too much up until this point in time. He does need to work on honing his control, and his stuff is so good that he often isn't able to control where it goes as well as he would like to. It is an area he has improved, while also learning how to work off of his fastball instead of pitching off of the success of his slider.
  18. I hope Looper didn't go to Notre Dame. Nope, Wichita State. Wichita State is in Hendry's old conference. Perhaps he loves MoVal guys just as much as he does ND guys. Not many opposing schools in MVC are very endearing towards WSU and their coach.
  19. White Sox South.
  20. No, because you're only looking at his collegiate stats. His FB touches the low 90s (88-91 from what I remember) and he has below avg. breaking stuff and a decent change.
  21. I just bought a graphics card so hopefully I won't run into the same problems already mentioned. What do you like about it so far?
  22. I changed it to good but not elite.
  23. Walter McCarthy now i know that you aren't yourself. who's walter mccarthy? Eh, I put an H in there, I'm Irish.
  24. UK isn't KU. I expect more than what you listed in this past decade, there should be no reason why UK is not a legit national contender. Looking at some of the mediocre programs (GT, Ohio St. Illinois, UF 3 times, etc) that have been to the title game is terribly frustrating. Those are not mediocre programs. Well maybe GT is. But, the other ones are not mediocre. Not elite, although tOSU could make that argument, but not mediocre either. They're good but not elite, I'd agree with that and some of them are better than what UK has right not (well of those 3 U of I is better right now and close with UF). Despite the last 10 years, I still view UK as an elite program, probably 2nd to UCLA. Of course, UNC and Duke have definitely gained ground to where I once held them given how well they have done over the past decade compared to UK.
