  1. We had eleventy billion breaks. Unfortunately, they've been equalized by poor calls to the bullpen and three horsefeathering errors, two by a guy who is usually money in the field. SIGH. Them's my Cubs that I've known for thirty years!!!
  2. Coco Crisp out of the game - defensive move. I actually kind of like that, though.
  3. You [expletive]. They're calling interference on Coghlan, I guess?
  4. Well, if the guys want to lose, I might as well listen to Pat and Ron and stay with you guys, if that's okay.
  5. I can't horsefeathering watch anymore. Dear Joe: all during the offseason, you must write, "I will not send starters and closers into dirty innings."
  6. Rossi's HR aside, I think I'd feel more secure if Hendricks were still on the mound. WHY, after all this time, play lefty-lefty matchup?
  7. I'm leaving work early, but I also don't want to get into anything new at work because I want to make sure I leave when I've originally planned? Does that make sense? At any rate, it's a good excuse for not being terribly useful in the office this afternoon.
  8. Two "is it just me, or..." questions for the peanut gallery: Is it just me, or do you also get a little jolt of happy when you refresh the current game page before the game and discover there's a new page you haven't read? Is it just me, or do you also get a chuckle out of the Bryce Harper commercials about him being in the playoffs, when the Nats got eliminated what feels like ages ago?
  9. I was thinking about getting the pocket picked - money isn't nearly the hassle that lost cc and ID are. But I can understand the other side of the go to Wrigleyville argument. You thought I shouldn't go because I might get my pocket picked (literally)?! And/or figuratively. I think it's a legitimate concern - thieves are opportunists.
  10. If the Cubs win tonight, all the Cubs in the stands will break out into "Go Cubs Go" on their own.
  11. Me neither. Sounds like a great way for a player to risk getting injured before the regular season. Also a team-building killer for ST. Don't like no meaningful players go to the WBC anymore? Didn't the American team basically have like minor leaguers/role-players at best on the roster last time? Perhaps not, but what about PR, the Dominican, etc.?
  12. Stay at home. Your wallet will thank you for it. Don't listen to him/her. Your memories and life experience will remember being around everyone if we win, and you won't remember this 100$ or 200$ in 20 years. Hell you probably won't remember it by next year. I was thinking about getting the pocket picked - money isn't nearly the hassle that lost cc and ID are. But I can understand the other side of the go to Wrigleyville argument.
  13. Me neither. Sounds like a great way for a player to risk getting injured before the regular season. Also a team-building killer for ST. That and the "now it counts thing" for the ASG. That also invited an unnecessary injury risk. JMO. So many things that Selig just fucked with unnecessarily as commissioner. Like Brewers to the NL and Astros to the AL.
  14. "People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." -- Rogers Hornsby Cub baseball in No-freaking-vember!!!! I still can't believe it! Let's do this every year!
  15. Stay at home. Your wallet will thank you for it.
  16. Er, no thanks. Javy is still a necessity in the field - JayHey too. After seeing Heyward get that drive that could have been a triple or inside the parker last night, I am re-convinced that starting Soler the other day at Wrigley was an awful idea. Heyward would have gotten a read on that ball and arrived in time to make the play.
  17. I would like the Cubs to win tonight and have Bartman throw the first pitch Opening Day at Wrigley next season. With a ball that would have been sprinkled in holy water, though.

  19. Yup. I wanted that last night, too. Same reasons.
