  1. Wow, maybe LaRussa isn't so bad. I think he'd rather pitch to D Ward than Cedeno. That's some astute stuff right there.
  2. Has Johnson ever been hit by a strike? That would be amazing.
  3. Well, it's hard to make him work too much when he's throwing so many strikes. But Soto is on base again. Go Cubs!!
  4. Senor Bacardi has joined me in my Cubs viewing position. He believes the Cubs will win...either in real life or in a game of MLB 08: The Show on my PS3 after the game. Let me talk to him for a while and maybe they'll win a double header tonight in honor of Ernie Banks.
  5. Lee made a good effort but the ball got past him. Cubs are going to Marshall out of the pen now. 2 outs with a runner on 2nd. Great job from Lieber tonight.
  6. Well...on the bright side the Cubs were able to get another man on base. If they keep doing that they will get more runs this game. Time for another shutout inning from Lieber. Oh...and I guess Paulie Walnuts loves Denny's or something.
  7. Wow....his wrist/hand was moving toward the ball as the ball came right at his wrist/hand. OUCH!!! Make them pay Fuku!!
  8. Does anyone have DLee's cell phone #? He's pulling everything on the ground tonight. He's been successful lately because he takes the outside pitches to the opposite field.
  9. Theriot needs to go to the R Johnson school of getting HBP. He'd be on base already.
  10. Another shutout inning from Lieber!!! The Cubs are going to win this if they keep being patient at the plate.
  11. So do I...Would have no problem hitting 5th..Then we could have Fukudome batting 1st or second..Lineup would be so much better I actually like Fuku hitting 5th. That way if a team pitches around DLee and ARam, we will get a good AB behind them with an excellent chance of advancing the runners and maybe scoring a run. I will take that any day of the week over a guy who K's or DP's too much behind them. The guy who would presumably move up to No. 5 has a better OPS than Fukudome, I believe. Sorry, I was distracted and missed the CLee part. I was going off of what we have. I like Fuku batting 5th over someone like Sori. My bad. If CLee was on the team then I see your point.

  13. Time for another shutout inning from Lieber and then the Cubs have the good OBP part of the line-up coming up.
  14. At least Lieber took some pitches. Soriano is due for a hit.
  15. Another good inning from Lieber. Still 2-1. Let's keep getting on base and get some runs!!! Soto, Pie, and Lieber due up.
  16. DeRo did a good job working this count. The team is looking good even though they are still behind. The first time through the lineup they were swinging early in counts, but they were able to coax a walk and a full count this inning. They will score again if they keep getting on. Now it's time for another shutout inning from Lieber :)
  17. Awesome, a walk. This team does good when they find a way to get on base. (I guess that's kind of obvious.) But good job by ARam to get on.
  18. Good inning from Lieber. Let's get some baserunners and more runs!!! (Sorry I had to specify. If you don't instruct this team to get baserunners they may pull grounders to the SSor 3B, pop up, or strike out for the rest of the game as every batter tries for a solo shot.)
  19. Theriot tried a bank shot. DLee's basketball experience helped him snag the rebound.
  20. That was a good top half of the 3rd for the Cubs. People got on base. There was even a run and whatnot. 2-1. Now let's see a good shutout from Lieber for the next 6 and score a few more runs :)
  21. Bob claims there's only a couple of ways to get to Pie when he's down 2 strikes. LOL. Only a couple ways???? I'm fairly certain he'd swing at a throw to 2nd.
