  1. I think the Cubs in a unique spot to still possibly maximize Marmols trade vaule. With eating a good portion of his paycheck he could be tacked on to a Garza deal with the Tigers. Getting value for Marmol and flipping Madson at the deadline would a great way to help Theo and company accelerate the rebuilding process. I
  2. You come to the ballpark ready to play everyday plain and simple.
  3. http://www.onionsportsnetwork.com/articles/chicago-cubs-cant-believe-theyre-doing-this-again,19870/ Love the Kerry Wood line.
  4. I recall J.R Smith being a free agent this offseason and OJ Mayo is still on the block. Anyone else on the free agent market in the way of 2 guards?
  5. I saw Horace Grant last spring in Vegas. The guys Arms are massive. Tonight would be a great night to give Deng and Rose a rest in the fourth.
  6. Celtics lost tonight.
  7. Deng and Boozer both possibly out tonight. Rose might have to score 50 for the Bulls to win tonight.
  8. http://www.chicagosportsaddict.com/?p=861 I thought he was after a ring?
  9. If only Hendry could convince the Rangers to take Alfonso back. The Cubs could use Youngs bat at second.
  10. Why not just go after Grienke and up the ante a little? I think between Wells and Gorgz you could get some pieces to help send over in a deal to the Royals. Grienke Zambrano Dempster Webb ? Silva/Cashner/Shark/Coleman
  11. Assuming Tom G is on his way out and we sign Webb. Z Dempster Webb Silva Cashner/Shark/Archer/Coleman/Diamond/ Does Hendry have enough depth to trade Wells in a package with Fukodome somewhere to help net more salary relief?
  12. http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/mlb/news/story?id=5896458 No interest at all in a three year deal. Hendry having a second meeting with both Pena/Webb today things are heating up.
  13. Johnson would be a nice pickup it would have to take more than Theriot to even get the Cubs to the table. 1B free agent 2B Johnson SS Castro 3b Ramirez C Soto pretty nice offensive potential from the Cubs infield next year.
  14. I hope Hendry doesn't stop the dealing at just Lilly. He has to be attempting to dump Theriot/Baker/Hill/Nady for anything.
  15. Rather gamble on Smotlz then overpay with prospects for Frasor.
  16. Anyone know where the Cubs stay when they play in Vegas?
  17. 5m is way too much for a guy coming off an injury riddled season in which he only played in 50 games. Makes me think Byrd won't have any trouble getting 8-9 from someone.
  18. He's how the Cubs are spreading out the bucks the mariners threw in.
  19. Capps wants a multi year deal and he wants to close. Danny Baez,Chad Bradford, Kiko Calero, Dotel, Escobar,Herges, are cheaper, one year options i would rather gamble on then overpay again for multiple years.
  20. I don't understand this signing for the A's at all . I would not be surprised to see Davis being shipped to be the northside before the weekend is over. Getting a cheap Cf'er gives me hope Hendry will upgrade the middle infield with the free agent market flooded with upgrades.
  21. Morgans success rate at stealing bases raises a flag. Can he catch and throw it , or is this just a 29 year old Pierre?
  22. I'd Prefer to go a cheap one year deal with Crisp or go the Reed Johnson/Ryan Church route . Spend the rest of the dollars on trying to improve are poor fielding light hitting middle infield. Uggla, Lopez,Ocab, Tejeda, Derosa,Hudson are still on the market.
  23. What is it 9 teams in ten years? Milton is sooooooo talented and his behavior isn't a problem but teams just keep giving him away. This wasn't a Cubs problem it's a Milton Bradley problem and sadly because Milton lacked a home life growing up no can tell Milton that because if you do your racist or out to get Milton. I love how message board posters , who never played in the bigs can pretend to know what goes on in these clubhouses with such certainty .Again not defending Jim Hendry or Carlos Silva, but if all of major league baseball wouldn't gamble on the great Milton Bradley unless it was the Cubs paying the entire bill it goes to show that Major League teams might just get Milton just a little bit better than us.
