  1. Man, I hate Ramirez. Not so much for his play, but his face. It just makes me angry to look at.
  2. Yeah, if Kluber doesn't get sharper quick, the Cubs should put up a few more.
  3. Schwarber beating out an IF hit was not something I expected to see
  4. After game four, part of me was going accept a series loss. Really, because of the nature of the postseason, I was somewhat ready the whole time. Right now, I am not prepared to lose this game. This is going to happen.
  5. I'm kind of a homebody to begin with, but watching a high tension game whilst packed like a sardine into a room full of drunk people sounds like abject misery to me. You'd have to pay me $100 to endure that.
  6. The bad outing in Colorado came after pitching in four games in four days. I remember him coming into that game with noticeably diminished velo. I'd guess he'll be pretty amped tonight, though.
  7. Guh, I've got butterflies already. Biggest sporting event of my fan life by a mile.
  8. i'm sure they're bummed, but if i were in their position i'd have some confidence going in with an excellent starting pitcher who had already won two games, plus two excellent relievers who can pitch a minimum of 4 innings. there's reason for both teams to feel like they can win tomorrow, which is why the odds are basically a coin flip. Oh, I totally expect the game to be a dogfight that could go either way.
  9. Smoltz said his prediction for game 7 was extra innings, and my immediate reaction was to want to barf. Noooooooooooo thanks. I said it in the game 6 thread, but extra innings tomorrow night may be more than my constitution could bear. It'd kill me.
  10. I almost laughed at that, but it's probably not hyperbole.
  11. Kluber might calm them down but I remember after blowing game 6 in 2003, Wood being on the mound didn't really make me feel any better. Right. I felt the same way. The entire thing had the stench of death on it after the eight inning of game six. I've matured since then, but I remember how I felt, and that was like game seven was fait accompli. It's silly, but I imagine many tribe fans feel that way right now.
  12. Hey, I'll be destroyed with a Cleveland loss, but I will be legitimately happy for you guys. The Cavs title brought me so, so much happiness. LBJ coming back, the Kevin Love narratives, golden state's perfect season, the unexpected comeback. It was the most amazing sporting memory I'll ever have. I want you guys to lose by a lot, but knowing a great fan base gets to feel that same thing will give me something to take solace in. And, if you guys don't win, it'll happen in this core's playing days. They're so good, and so fun to watch when you're not playing them (and they're hitting). Let's all go throw up and play extras tomorrow. Good luck! :hello: Extras? You must be out yo damn mind! I would die. No euphemism, I would expire from the experience.
  13. I was hoping for a no drama four or five game series, but it's only fitting the powers that be elected the way of pain. That'll make the payoff that much more satisfying.
  14. They are already [expletive] their pants. I mean look if the Cubs had been up 3-1 in this series and now it was going to Game 7, I would be [expletive] my pants too. lol. For sure. I'd have a doom boner of Holmesian proportion.
  15. I hope you endure the day well, but remember what's in store for you guys... http://moviemezzanine.com/wp-content/uploads/Indiana-Jones-and-the-Temple-of-Doom-Mola-Ram-Amrish-Puri-heart.png
  16. I don't drink, but a bottle of champagne just went in the fridge, and I have every intention of opening (and draining) it in celebration tomorrow night.
  17. I'm more concerned with surviving tomorrow night. Might need to buy an AED/defibrillator.
  18. It's not the 20 pitches in a vacuum, it's 62 pitches over two games, and sending him back out after he tweaked his leg. Of course this is all in the moment reaction, but his use in tonight's game was simply unnecessary. We were up five (and then seven), and tomorrow night screams close game. I'm all for riding Chapman like the rented mule that he is, but I wan't him as fresh as possible.
  19. This is absurd. For all the talk of Joe being a "confidence" guy, what kind of message does this send to the rest of the bullpen? I think this is the polar opposite of the Showalter/Britton fiasco. Absolutely flabbergasting.
