  3. Prior to last night's game, USSoccer was taking heat for thinking that the wind blowing out would negatively affect the approach of our young hitters. I didn't think it would, but watching the game and looking at the percentage of swings they took at pitches outside of the zone, I think that's exactly what happened. Being beaten outright I can accept, but giving away a game you should win by abandoning the approach that brought you success all year is just infuriating. Who takes responsibility for this - players, Mallee, Maddon, front office? I'm not one for assigning blame, but if I had to, it'd be the players, as I'm sure it was addressed. Just a lot of trying to do too much. But they're kids.
  4. I work hard to maintain my composure, but last night I was about as mad about a Cubs game as I've ever been. They hit at least 3 balls today off kluber and miller that would've been home runs yesterday and they could get it out of the inflield against some phucking scrub who gave up more home runs that 99% of the league. Yeah that irritated me. Prior to last night's game, USSoccer was taking heat for thinking that the wind blowing out would negatively affect the approach of our young hitters. 5. Which makes last nights 1-0 loss even more tough to take. I work hard to maintain my composure, but last night I was about as mad about a Cubs game as I've ever been.
  6. I would really reconsider the impact sports has on your well-being. That isn't healthy. I'm really beginning to wonder if Ski is mentally ill. 99% of the time he's a case study in irrationality and uncontrolled anger, and then he'll try and come off all zen. Or maybe it's just all a bit he's putting on.
  7. The secret is that Travis Wood just isn't very good.
  8. I want to just turn this off and play some video games, but I can't bring myself to do it.
  9. I'm pretty much housebound (couchbound, even), so I have nothing else to do but sit here and ruminate on this travesty. It's not healthy. I'm just profoundly frustrated and befuddled. Probably much like Red Sox and Toronto fans were as they watched the improbable unfold.
  10. And the team knows what is wrong. In the pregame they mentioned how last night the Cubs swung at the second most pitches outside of the zone they have all season, and that "team officials" were not happy. Half the team has just abandoned their plate discipline.
  11. Just giving so much away right now. I mean Kluber is good, but god horsefeathering damn it, the kids are just swinging at everything
  12. At this point I'd settle for advancing the runner ...and he didn't
  13. So is just that everyone else seem like it relative to Baez, or is Bryant really slow applying tags?
  14. Because Javy isn't even taking ABs right now, he's just flailing at anything and everything thrown at him. But by and large, this team has gotten away from what made them a great offense, which is not giving the pitcher anything. They're giving a ton away right now.
  15. Baez is an automatic out right now. Full regression.
  16. Yeah, let's not forget how this happened. The homer and double are on Lackey, but a couple errors and an RBI single from a guy who should have been called out on strikes.
