    This game isn't official, it would be wiped out Then play 2 tomorrow. I'm sick of losing our off days. Double header means crappy pitchers, not sure who the Cubs would even start

    It's either Baez or Soler. I'd go Baez just because of the swing and miss in his game. Soler's defense is brutal but he seems like he's gonna be a guy that is gonna figure it out on offense and dominate.

    We have one with Kansas City. We do have common off-dates on September 14th (before our series in Pittsburgh) with us playing in Philly the night before and them being at home. That seems to be a good bet.

    Utley's BABIP is so far below his career norms this year that he would be a fantastic buy-low candidate depending on price. Also gives another veteran in the clubhouse.

    Now we're bitching about making moves here. Can't please anyone. Aren't you one of the people who don't want them trying? This is barely trying. Probably 2 really crappy prospects going back to Miami. Literally doesn't hurt the Cubs at all and it gives them a slight upgrade.

    Thank you for giving me a brain splitting migraine. I mean I understand what you're trying to say -- but Mike Leake is not the guy that puts you over the top. If they win again it'll be because they still have Bumgarner pitching 3 games in a series and going crazy, not because of Leake. However they may lose quite a few more games in the future because they gave up their #1 guy. I don't think giving up their #1 guy means as much as it would for any other MLB team because their system sucks (he's not even a top 100 guy). But yeah, it's ridiculous to get pissed off about not getting Mike Leake.

    See I think that deal sucks and I'd be marginially pissed if that's the deal and the Cubs didn't top it. But I doubt that's the full deal.

    tell that to the royals The Royals ran into a collapsing Oakland team and got a home game in that Wild Card. The Cubs are all but guaranteed to get a good Pittsburgh team in Pittsburgh. If they win that? St. Louis. So basically you think they should only make a move if they're leading the division and are the clear favorites against anyone they might face. Got it. They can make a move, it just dumb to trade more than you think you should just to make a move when the odds of you doing anything this year are slim at best.
