  1. Considering the Cubs are on the rise for the foreseeable future and the sox are pretty much bad, i wouldn't mind seeing the cubs on the score from next year. actually, i listen to the score in my car while i commute so it would be really convenient.
  2. Maybe they set the pitching machine to throw kershaw curves. i know there was article in spring training that said KB set a machine to throw a wainright curve. That's ironic, since Kershaw didn't have his curve working well today. oh well bryant hit a oppo hr off kershaw fk what all yall say kid is amazing.

  4. That's quite the bar to set 1 down one 1 to go! just saying if we can beat them back to back, we can beat anyones 1 / 2 in the playoffs. (Potentially)
  5. as i said earlier if we beat grienke and kershaw we are for real GO CUBS!
  6. ugh dont tell me more lake, i wish schwarber had a position or soler was ready.... damng..
  7. If we're gonna give what the Phillies want I'd rather give it to the white sox for sale
  8. Agreed if we can beat one of Kershaw and Grienke, that would be great.. beat both and that would be amazing.
  9. The weather will more than likely cancel this one -- tornado weather to boot. cubs are going to have to play a double header soon getting close to no off days towards the stretch.. jesus. weather has been bad this year.
  10. The quintessential CFer and leadoff man. basically a guy who is the middle ground of castro and fowler.. switch hitter.. not too many pop ups.. not too many grounders..

  13. Or we could go get an actually good player to play CF instead. no castro has to go he is a choke artist. we dont want what happened tonight happening in the playoffs. if we keep bryant schwarber baez and russell he is the odd man out. the worst part of this team is defense and pitching. if the defense is better it will make the pitching better [expletive] fip.
  14. Buxton will end up a Corey Patterson at best we been there done that. In fact he didnt do that great in the minors this year. sorry trading a for sure .300 hitter for a guy who is basically gonna be like billy Hamilton is just dumb. if your hellbent on trading schwarber, get chris sale.
  15. thats what im saying cant we do like a 10-2 run or something. 2 modest 5 game winning streaks.
  16. guys the cubs have a good problem.. too much talent... schwarber is a stud. makes coghlan or montero expendable as a piece in a deal for a pitcher.
  17. David Ross has 15(16 now) plate appearances against LHP this year, we can comfortably ignore that. Last year he hit .228/.318/.491 against them and has a career OPS against LHP of about .750. This is far better than what we can expect from Coghlan, even more so when the pitcher himself has a huge platoon split. ok fine then don't give him 5x more PA against RHP than LHP. Stop this silly personal catcher crap against RHP. Sample size means nothing when you have aging regressing player. COGHLAN has a small sample size too! Ross vs. LHP 2013 (World Series year) .259 AVG .481 SLG .803 OPS 54 AB 2014 .228 AVG .491 SLG .809 OPS 57 AB 2015 .154 AVG .231 SLG .498 OPS 13 AB Coghlan vs. LHP 2013 .333 AVG .481 SLG .860 OPS 27 AB 2014 .247 AVG .360 SLG .710 OPS 89 AB 2015 .143 AVG .143 SLG .476 OPS 14 AB This year Coghlan is waaaay under his previous levels in the past 3 seasons but ross is not AS under..... PLUS coghlan has pop.
  18. You can't be serious he's decided this is his thing. Ross is good at defense. good at popups, groundouts, and strikeouts. and good at making lester feel comfortable. he isnt very good against lefties let alone righties last year this year or almost any year. at least coghlan has pop..
  19. alright the 17 runs last night was epic, but i'd gladly take 8-0 and save the other 9 for games like today haha
  20. maybe alcantara is trade bait and they dont want to take the chance he struggles and becomes worthless?
  21. have you not seen the adjustments he made this year prior to his hand injury?
  22. That would be very awesome.
  23. Guys like Almora, Vogelbach, Mckinney, Edwards, Underwood, Alcantra should all be up for grabs in the right type of deal. No one is untouchable but I would only trade Russell/Schwarber for Mike Trout or Bryce Harper. Add Bryant and Rizzo to that list............. with russell/schwarbs
  24. Would be nice if the cubs can go ahead and to a pittsburg and win like 17 of the next 23 yeah.
  25. One of the guys on the clubhouse weekend show (8am-10am) on the score wanna say Hit & Run with Rozner were saying the Sox need to rebuild (which i agree) and Sale while unlikely they would want to trade him would give them the best return they could possibly get. Someone else mentioned Quintana, he is a decent pitcher, but if the cubs could get Sale, could you imagine that ... thats a Wildcard 1 game starter for ya there.
