    Last I checked Josh donaldson, chris archer, and lemehieu used to be in the system but the cubs traded em away. Not sure if it's ownership, if it's management, a combination of both, or truly a curse

    This is what my illogical beef head instincts told me a while ago. This team is just average.

    No it's just a bad weekend imo but obviously things are trending downward so while its concerning its not hot garbage level yet Enough with the Saber metric crap the cubs te.just hasn't been the same since the white sox series. A slump is a slump a funk is a funk.. getting off to a hot start padding the teams performance is just that. The gas tank is empty .

    That doesn't make any sense? Doing what exactly? I'd take our team over the next 10 years over theirs I'd take the Cubs just based on the fact that Theo/Jed have been there before and the Cubs are going to be able to out-spend the Astros. But right now, the Astros are ahead of us while starting their rebuild right around the same time. one difference is that the astro's are actually not bad at developing pitchers within.

    hey man they are young rookies learning on the job they need to learn how to adjust. they need to learn how to control the strike zones.. *cough Cough* they need to learn how to make contact.

    yeap maybe going with hitters that have softball swings and no real defensive position wasnt as bright an idea as going for TOR potential pitchers.

    yeah i think they need to swap some young talent with other teams that have young guys and get a couple more guys who dont strike out 3 times per game 4 days a week

    I dont see the point placing bets on run prevention when they run bum ass has beens out in the 10th like Soriano. Also, i'd game on scoring more runs than giving up more runs. if the pitching is as good as the stats show than thats a risk im willing to take.

    The Cubs are playing .419 (13 - 18) in the opening game of series this year, but .593 (38 - 26) in the rest of the games. Since May 19, they are 5 - 14 in games to open a series, 25-13 in subsequent games. How in the world could we even win a one game playoff, better blow it up again and trade young talent for young talent get some contact hitters, get a real closer and get a catcher who can catch and hit.

    Seems like no one here can ever remotely attempt to think outside the box. Have fun being cookie cutter hope you don't get bored at life Coghlan has and can play 2b. Having cog plus schwarber in the lineup every day is better than Russell and Castro who both stink. Screw defense the cubs are already one of the worst this year. Everyone know the offense sucks but no one is willing to think of ideas to make it better knowing that trades Prolly just won't happen

    I read how Coghlan came up as a 2b. Would it be bad if Joe tried the following when Ross needs to catch? Schwarber in LF Coghlan at 2b Russell/Castro SS At least you get Schwarber bat in the lineup everyday!!!
