  1. Duke really doesn't fall off the mound so much as he basically takes a small step off to the 1B side. That was a fine bunt, but not the right pitcher to use it against.
  2. But the web gem defense is doing great. Strange how those things work.
  3. Needless to say, this team needs to work on its routine play defense.
  4. That was more on Williams than Barrett. Wilson had the base stolen because Williams was so freaking slow to the plate, not because of a bad throw.
  5. I think there has to be a statute of limitations for using "rebuilding process" on a team like the Pirates.
  6. Cedeno hits it on the screws, but right to Castillo. Nuts.
  7. Anyone know how good Duke's move to first is?
  8. They needed a bullpen arm and couldn't afford to send down a bat with Jones out. Wuertz is a bullpen arm. He threw 15 pitches yesterday, after not pitching for the 2 previous games. But they'll likely need a guy who can go today and tomorrow with Williams and Rusch starting. The bullpen is down from 7 pitchers to 6 and they're not well-rested. I swear Novoa had a 2 inning outing in the past day or two. Also, Jimmy Fallon needs to get off my TV.
  9. Seriously, are they going to call up Rohlicek because Ohman blew up the last two games? Novoa isn't bad, but it's a shortsighted move. Russ was released.
  10. Nice charge Ronny! That yellow mesh on the Pirates' sleeves is driving me nuts.
  11. I haven't figured that out either. They basically sold him down the river. I never really figured out the justification, either, but I think it's that fans thought he was a lazy slob who never fulfilled his potential with Pittsburgh. It wasn't like he flipped the bird to the fans on the way out or anything, but yeah.
  12. Yay, no 1-2-3 inning. Ramirez booed...for some reason.
  13. That was a nice hook, all things considered.
  14. Left-handed protection for A-Ram...duh. ;) Why does Aram's left hand need protection ????? Ohhhhhhhhhhh I can make so many dirty jokes and innuendos out of this statement. But I'll refrain.
  15. Left-handed protection for A-Ram...duh. ;)
  16. The current hope is that he'll manage to hit well enough to be a decent utility OF. Considering what happened to him at SS, that outcome would be most welcome.
  17. anyone know if novoa gained the weight back that he lost during his illness? how was he @ iowa? Pretty much what you'd expect: inconsistent, but overall decent.
  18. Sean Casey is going to be out for 6-8 weeks with two fractures in his back. OW!!!
  19. When did Marge have a sex change operation? :D A sex change operation for Marge Schott would have resulted in "she". :P That's the joke, mon ami. ;)
  20. Insert standard Astacio is ugly and Magic Wandy jokes. Fixed.
  21. IF Marge Schott were still alive, he would never stand for this!
