  1. Part of the upside of shoring up the rotation would be giving the Cubs some flexibility when it comes to their young starting pitching. Guys like Marshall and Marmol could make attractive pieces in a deal for a SS or CF.
  2. He actually was Julio Franco's little league coach.
  3. Without Phillip Hughes on the trade table I cannot see any chance of landing Willis even if they include Duncan. Sanchez was arguably Detroit's top pitching prospect and was fairly well-regarded save for his weight and injury issues. He's probably a small distance behind Hughes in the Yankees' system right now, but he's fairly valuable in his own right. He has terrific patience at the plate and developing power. They'd have to sell their farm system in order to keep Hughes, but I could see them pulling off a trade for Willis. They also have Jose Tabata shooting through the minors.
  4. The Yankees have been stocking up on RHPs lately. I know their pitching is suspect, but I'm convinced they have something brewing for this offseason.
  5. I can't wait for the Boston sports media to go completely ape over this deal. They'll drive him out of Boston within two years.
  6. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2569280 The headline speaks for itself!
  7. No Wisconsin in a BCS Bowl makes me a saaaaaaaaaad panda.
  8. LHPs tend to do better at Yankee Stadium thanks to a cavernous LF, but that kind of coin is insane for the guy.
  9. I think its more than that. I think there is a rule that you have to wait a certain amount of time before trading draft picks. One full year after signing the pick.
  10. San Francisco has absolutely NO ONE that could net Manny in a trade. Their farm system is terrible and Matt Cain is pretty much their only young player they have who has a promising future.
  11. Awww....man, Boston isn't going to pony up $30 or so million dollars for Igawa? Crap. I can't wait to see what happens when Boston gives up its right to negotiate with Matsuzaka. It's going to be a complete free for all.
  12. They don't call it The Hall of Elite, either.
  13. Tony Gwynn's Stats His credentials are impressive, but I wonder how he would fare putting up those kinds of numbers today. He'll definitely make the HOF based on his gold gloves, all star games, postseason numbers, and BA...but still, I have to wonder.
  14. Light was playing peacemaker? Isn't that a type of ICBM?
  15. You know your team is in trouble when Fox sets your highlight reel to Benny Hill music.
  16. The Bears just got Rexually Assaulted.
  17. Um, he kinda held on and took Grossman down with him.
  18. It's really easy to go from loving certain players to hating them on this team, isn't it?
  19. I don't think either ref knew that kick was good.
  20. Cripes, call these friggin' plays correctly!
