  1. Hmmmmmmmmm...could it be...? http://img117.imageshack.us/img117/6370/stevensegalmb6.jpg ...nah.
  2. http://www.retroimg.com/work/hindenburg.jpg OH THE HUMANITY!
  3. It saddens me to know there are baseball fans out there like this. Ugggggggggggh.
  4. He was a pretty good two-way player at Georgia Tech and later at Tulane, so it's clear he knows how to handle himself at the plate.
  5. Traditional scouting terminology; each position player is graded according to five tools. 1) Hitting for average 2) Hitting for power 3) Speed 4) Defense 5) Arm
  6. I vote we have American Idol-like tryouts.
  7. He started two games. We're in the race. How much leeway can we really afford? Considering the combined production of our catchers thus far, it would be rather difficult for Soto to do any worse than Kendall or Hill.
  8. The Padres fans on the web seem overall okay with this trade. On the one hand, they appreciate what he's done for the team during his stint there. On the other hand, he's apparently been decidedly mediocre this season and has been on the trade block for awhile.
  9. LHP Joe Thatcher (25 years old) AA: 1-0, .55 ERA, 14 G, 16.1 IP, 20/2 K/BB, 0 HR, .75 GO/FO, .193 BAA AAA: 2-1, 2.08 ERA, 24 G, 21.2 IP, 1 SV, 33/7 K/BB, 0 HR, .88 GO/GO, .226 BAA RHP Will Inman (20 years old) A+: 4-3, 1.72 ERA, 13 GS, 78.2 IP, 98/23 K/BB, 4 HR, .89 GO/FO, .198 BAA AA: 1-5, 5.45 ERA, 8 GS, 39.2 IP, 42/16 K/BB, 7 HR, 1.45 GO/FO, .259 BAA LHP Steve Garrison (20 years old) A+: 8-4, 3.44 ERA, 20 GS, 104.2 IP, 74/28 K/BB, 6 HR, 1.04 GO/FO, .253 BAA Inman's clearly the best pitcher they gave up, but Garrison seems like he could be a decent starter in a few years and Thatcher probably could contribute to the Padres' bullpen immediately. I'm not a huge Linebrink fan, so I'm going to give the edge to the Padres on this deal.
  10. Something tells me Grant Ball Four's suckage forced the Brewers' hand on this trade. Let's see what they gave up... *Goes to check milb.com*
  11. It was indeed 74 pitches! I mean...wow. Just...wow.
  12. Would you expect more, less, or the same for Dunn prospects-wise?
  13. McDonough and Hendry have been claiming for awhile now that if the Cubs were in contention this season, there would be extra room in the budget to make acquisitions. What that means dollar-wise is anyone's guess.
  14. plus Pie. I'd do it. And as Outshined One aserted about two weeks ago, sign Andrew to play CF in the offseasn. I think the Braves might want Hill though. ...I did? *Shrugs* Must be the fine Dutch...um...air getting to my head. O:)
  15. The fact that he's 33 and hasn't had a good season since 2004 features prominently in my assessment of the trade. Must...resist...Pujols...age joke...temptation...
  16. Somewhere, Chip Caray is shedding a single, solitary tear.
  17. Just dropping in for a good old fashioned... GO CUBS! Got work tomorrow morning, night all!
  18. You hear anything about Preston Clark or Victor Sanchez?
  19. I hope TT becomes an abusive and spiteful mod. Those always make boards more entertaining.
  20. He's available. If he can play RF, I'd love to have him. If not, it'd be nice to facilitate a deal to get him to another team and pick up some quality players in the process.
  21. Harang signed an extension in the offseason: 4/$36.5 with an option for a fifth year at $12.75m or a $2m buyout. Considering his production in relation to his cost, it'd take quite a bit to take him off Cincy's hands, imo.
  22. hire a sitter and go to the strip club. Or have the sitter strip for you.
  23. I'm hoping by then every single decent bat and arm on the team has been traded for spare parts. I hope Griffey hits 7 HR in that series... A-Rod, too. :D
