  1. they had a writer from toronto on the score today talking about this, he said it was a long shot and would require a good package but isn't completely out of the question I'd kill for Halladay, but I just don't see the Cubs having the ammunition to pull that kind of a deal off.

  3. Ned Yost is full of intrigue. He's the Brewers' worst nightmare! \:D/
  4. Hudson and Burnett are probably about equally as non-durable. probably not. Looking at their track records, I guess you're right. Either way, all 3 guys are solid options, IMO; just stay away from Wolf. Hudson has a really good track record health-wise. I'd worry about PAP with him, but he's been consistent and solid throughout his career.
  5. Nifty. Are both going to Boise?
  6. I like me some Jericho Jones! And where's my Michael Brenly updates? Boise plays at night. i think he was asking what he had for lunch today. Baked potato, grilled fingerling potatoes, and scalloped potatoes with cheddar.
  7. the cubs will end up signing with milwaukee? that'd be crazy. Combining the two teams into one uber-team would be freaking awesome.

  9. He raised the AVG last night, so he had to work on the IsoD tonight. Tomorrow, the IsoP!
  10. The only thing that really bothers me about this trade is that the Brewers still have a number of good trade chips in Gamel, Salome, Escobar, and Gillespie. That's plenty for them to go out and get another SP, if not help for their bullpen. If this is the only move they're making, I'm a bit worried about them. If they go out and somehow manage to get another top-flight starter or shutdown reliever, I'm much more worried.
  11. Mark Rogers is involved in this trade? He has a fantastic arm, but horrific control. He's still young enough to become a good pitcher.
  12. I've never been a big fan of Zach Jackson. Bryson has put up decent numbers as a reliever in the Sally League, but I've never had a high opinion of minor league relievers, especially those still in A ball.
  13. He'd be an upgrade in the back end of our rotation and he's a free agent after this season. He wouldn't provide a 1-2 punch with Zambrano in the playoffs, I'll grant that, but he would definitely win the Cubs a few games that they might not win if Marquis/Gallagher/Marshall is pitching instead.
  14. You must be ga-ga for Justin Berg.
  15. At the rate things are going for the Yankees, why not try for Mussina?
  16. Gammons said this would be officially announced tomorrow morning. Sabathia for LaPorta, 2 minor leaguers, and a PTBNL
  17. Ridling just hit his 4th HR. Something tells me he's not staying in Boise for long.
  18. Personally, I'm surprised to see Ender here being a giant homer. Ehhhhhhhhhhhhh, let him have his moment. I was feeling much the same way when the Cubs got Nomar in 2004.
  19. There's no way in hell the Cubs would have been able to beat the Tigers that year. That Tigers team was going to pound whoever faced them in the World Series.
  20. Yesterday hurt, but if you told me the Cubs would go 4-3 between SF and STL, I would have been happy with it after the mess at US Cellular.
  21. What an odd decision not to pinch run with Ward there.
