  1. I wonder if he did it to screw around with the reporters?
  2. The Cubs don't need another reliever. The pen is fine. It's fine, but I'd love to have three guys in there who can strike out the side on a given day. :D
  3. There are two outs. I know. I don't think I phrased it clearly enough.
  4. Larry just said Wood's not ready. Lou's coming out to buy some time.
  5. Alan Dunn, who was rumored to have gotten into a few spats with Rothschild over Rich Hill and how the Cubs were handling him in 2005 and 2006.
  6. Just getting this up early since I have an insane night ahead and might not see my computer until tomorrow evening!

  8. Lambert's one of the better relievers in the system right now. Don't be surprised to see him called up in 2009 and actually be reasonably good, imo.
  9. Didn't Prior's shoulder problems turn out to be more serious than the traditional MRIs suggested, since they basically opened him up and found a lot more damage than they thought was there? Maybe this is being done to prevent something like that from happening again.

  12. I've liked what I've seen from Burke. He has good ABs, draws walks, plays a good OF, is sneaky fast, and has some pop. The only downside I've seen from him is a low batting average. It's a bit head-scratching that he has that problem, given his skillset.
  13. Sontag confirmed, as he's in Boise's starting lineup tonight.
  14. Pawelek went 2 innings, gave up 3 walks, and struck out 2. So much for having a strong start. :(
  15. If he's fully healed, I'd like to see him shake the rust off for a few games down in the minors. He's the kind of guy who comes back from injury and promptly puts up an 0/12 with 6 Ks and a bunch of weak groundouts/pop outs before finally getting back into a groove.
  16. KG's interview was equal parts awesome, hilarious, touching, and frightening. ANYTHING'S POSSIBLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLE!!!!!!!!!!!

  18. Things are going well for Boise early. Hatley had 4 scoreless and 5 Ks. Kyler Burke hit a home run. Keedy and Harrison both have doubles. Daytona put up a valiant fight and lost 8-7. Tennessee mauled Mobile 13-0. Veal and Ceda had great outings. Iowa is getting their butts kicked. Pie is having a good day (2/4 with a double), but Berg got walloped.
  19. Well, if you're going to go down like that, I can't exactly blame you for it. That was a hell of a play at the end.
