  1. Good to know nothing's changed since yesterday.
  2. LHP breaking ball low and away...swing and a miss. Just like clockwork.
  3. What a relief! Sad to see him off the team for a few days, but the dude deserves time off for that. \:D/
  4. I'm not sure if you're saying the trade was insane or the e-mailer, but I though it was a very solid trade for the Grizzlies. Gay. Love. Era., get it? I get the Gay, Love thing. I was referring to him calling it an insane trade. That was part of the joke.
  5. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being "None" and 10 being "1969," I'm at a 3.5 right now. Given this team's current injuries, I'm not overly worried since I think the Cubs will get better as they get Zambrano, Soriano, and Johnson back in the near future. If the Cubs make a trade or two over the coming weeks, we'll be in prime position to make a run. However, if the Cubs lose 6 out of 7 to SF and St. Louis on the road, I'll push the panic button. The Cardinals and Brewers are still lurking. I'm not all to comfortable with this team after watching their terrible showings against the Rays, Orioles, and White Sox (at the Cell). All are good teams, yes, but so are the Cubs. Going 1-8 in those series is pretty sad. If this team goes into the break more than 3 games up on the Cardinals or Brewers, I'll be feeling good. I'm cautiously optimistic...for now.
  6. You never know when we could use a utility man who plays 2B adequately and another position mediocrely at best!
  7. booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
  8. You can't walk in a run, dude!
  9. Hell's bells, why not convert him and Mota to pitchers if they both keep up their production at the plate?
  10. I still have trouble getting over the fact that Juliette Lewis played Audrey in Christmas Vacation.
  11. Mota works a perfect inning! :clapping:
  12. I was beginning to wonder which position player would be trotted out as a sacrificial lamb if this game kept up.
  13. he has a sister named Harley Rebel's bio

  15. He's a senior sign whom we drafted this year. He could be a real prospect, but the Cubs should start moving him up in the system before we start thinking of him as such. maybe he's on the matt craig plan. but seriously, i have a hard time seeing how a senior sign who was drafted in the 25th round is much of a prospect unless he does something extremely unexpected. Murdering the ball in Boise is rather unexpected. If he can keep something like this up in Peoria later this season, he'll be on my prospect radar. For now, I'm keeping an eye on him.
  16. There are some lines in that game I'm looking forward to posting. That is one ugly extra inning game.

  18. He's totally nailing a drunk fat chick in a Paul Konerko jersey tonight. Will he or the chick be wearing the Konerko jersey? Doesn't matter, either way's funny, just curious. They'll use it as a towel to clean up afterward. It's the only appropriate use for such a jersey.

  20. See, I don't know WHY they suck on the road. Playing at the Cell is easy on the players. They go to their homes and don't have to travel all over creation. If it were about them sucking on the west coast or whatever, fine, but this series doesn't seem to gel with the idea that the Cubs suck on the road simply because they're not the home team. There's something else going on and I wish I knew what it was.
  21. I really don't know what to expect with this team any more. Some days it seems like they're the best team in baseball. The offense can mash, the pitching can be stellar, and everything just seems to click. But then you get games like we've seen in the Rays, Orioles, and this series where this team is acting like it's 2006 again. I can't figure it out.
  22. ATTN: Homeplate Umpire The homeplate has corners. This is part of the strike zone.
