The Redskins need to be first on that list, then the Indians. I don't have much of a problem with the schools that use tribe names, so long as the tribe gives their consent, like the Ute, Seminole, and Choctaw tribes have done. Redskins changed their focus to pigs instead of native americans. The Indians are by far the biggest offenders. It's a toss-up between an offensive name and an offensive mascot. At the very least, the Indians have been down-playing Chief Wahoo in the past few years.

They've got pitching prospects out the rear, but they have next to nothing position prospect-wise in their system. If they don't think Lincecum is going to stay healthy or Cain will get too expensive too quickly, why not trade either for a haul of top position prospects?

Frankly, I think Milwaukee matches up better with San Francisco than anyone else. San Francisco has good pitching, but they need help across the diamond and power bats in the worst way. LaPorta would be a great fit as a RH power hitter. Alcides Escobar would be a massive upgrade over whatever they trot out there at SS (as would many other people). Cole Gillespie would fit in nicely in RF. Angel Salome would be a good fit, considering Bengie Molina will turn 35 next year. I don't see why Milwaukee doesn't try making a run at Cain or Lincecum.

I'm hoping to see more from Shafer b/c when I seen him, I was not impressed. Banwart's having an interesting season so far, in spite of the fact that he missed some of May and all of June. Shafer could be an interesting prospect if he turns out like Banwart has thus far.

In other news... Iowa is tied 1-1. Pie is 1/1 with a walk. Tennessee lost 5-2. Castillo was 2/4 with a double. Russell pitched mediocrely. Ceda, too. Daytona is up 4-1. Grant Johnson pitched well. Peoria is down 9-1 late. Pina pitched pretty well, but Castillo and Muller have not. The offense is spluttering, to boot.

We already knew HGH was involved, so that's .333. I keep waiting for Jose Canseco to write a tell-all book about how Tony LaRussa is essentially an unlicensed pharmacist who supplies all his players with enough amphetamines, HGH, steroids, and horse tranquilizers to kill a herd of bull elephants.

Rick Ankiel flames out, gets injury and mental problems that he can't work out, and promptly becomes one of the best power hitting outfielders out there. Seriously, this makes no sense. There is absolutely no reason for him hitting as well as he has been unless steroids, voodoo, or body snatchers are somehow involved.

Considering Hill's value is at an all-time low, I'd rather wait and see if he can get back on track before we consider throwing him under the bus as a throw-in for a trade.

LaPorta is the only Brewers name the Cubs can't match, imo. Green and Cain aren't anything special. Gamel and Escobar? I meant among those three names mentioned in the rumored deal. Green is not going to be sticking at 3B and will lose quite a bit of value when he moves into the OF. Cain has primarily played RF and hasn't shown anything close to the power and hitting needed to be of any value there. The Cubs can't match Gamel or LaPorta. And, frankly, Escobar is not as valuable as people think. He doesn't hit for much power and his IsoD is putrid. I wouldn't be surprised if he turns out to be Ronny Cedeno II.

The problem with challenging Kosuke is that he can drive pitches, especially on the inner half. He has enough power to hit gappers and home runs when he gets pitches on the inner and middle portions of the strike zone, especially pitches that are thigh-high and above in the zone. Kosuke's biggest problem has been handling breaking balls low and away, especially if a pitcher can get strike one with it. He'll chase those, especially in a pitcher's count. However, the problem with going away-away-away with Kosuke is that he'll lay off those pitches in hitter's counts and umpires are not always generous with calling those pitches.
