30-ish AAA player, been hanging around that level for a long time. Had a nice year at the plate last year @ Iowa. Basically one of those guys who will get a soft-focus lens special on Outside the Lines if he ends up sticking with the Cubs and doing well.

It's a bit of a concern, but frankly, his stuff is good enough that he'll likely end up in the FSL at some point this season, if not in AA next season. I think the reason the Cubs have him down in Peoria is to hammer out his control problems, since the hitters down there are less likely to make him pay, meaning he'll have longer outings and can get more innings in under his belt.

Yep I am officially excited about both of them. They both have long ER free streaks going. I liked Carpenter a lot when I saw him. The only two concerns I have about him are his health and his control. He's been walking a lot of guys.
