We're low on options. The best the Cubs can hope for is either a young guy who could end up being a decent bench option some day or a mediocre veteran who may or may not have some gas left in the tank. I don't think Hendry will pursue a top flight option, so the best we can hope for is someone who is decent at best.

Actually, the team we're currently playing has a glut of guys who could be decent options at 3B. McGehee, Hall, and Counsell are all possibilities. Moreover, Mat Gamel is currently crushing the ball in AAA and could make one of those guys useless. Granted, Gamel plays 3B like he has concrete shoes and a lead glove, but with his bat, you take that tradeoff.

That was strangely amusing.

That really wasn't Soto's fault. Braun stole that base on the 3b, who was playing too far away from the bag. The throw was pretty far off 3B. Even if Scales made it to the bag in time, he wouldn't have had a play.
