  1.      Everyone say goodbye to CubsGM.
  2. Always strange how these situations tend to find Nate McLouth.
  3. He doesn't fall off to the 3B side so much as runs off towards it.
  4. I think Mike Gonzalez has schizophrenia.
  5. Did I seriously just hear boo birds after seeing Milton hit that well?
  6. I'll just pretend he flied out there. That makes me feel better.
  7. Followed by getting a basehit UP the middle. :D He got lucky and failed to pull it like he was trying. But I won't complain about good luck It looked like he shortened up his swing on that one, actually.

  9. You're right. 31 ABs tell us all we need to know about Vitters. He clearly is horrible.
  10. I understand your concern, but Z is basically having his start moved up by 18 hours. It's not that much of a difference in regards to recovery. I'd agree with that sentiment if the Cubs didn't have any choice in the matter, but it irks me that the Cubs have some other options at their disposal and that Z could start on regular rest tomorrow. In my opinion, it's enough of a difference in terms of recovery that it's bothersome. Z's durable and a trooper, but I really am not a fan of taking risks with pitchers, even where those risks are relatively small, when other options are available.
  11. The rain delay was 45 minutes. I don't know what idiot authorized that, but when you have a guy with a long history of injuries, you don't screw around with him like that.
  12. Theriot could have grounded into a double play, too. Maybe the bunt gave the Cubs a run. Or he could have flied out. Maybe the bunt did neither. You can speculate all you want (butterfly effect and all that), but the bottom line was that Theriot gave up an out in the first inning, despite being a halfway decent hitter and despite it only being the first inning. It's not a good practice.

  14. Boise has a knack for comebacks. They were down 4-0, but clawed their way back and are up 5-4.
  15. Bankruptcy courts are notorious for giving huge amounts of leeway to debtors in Chapter 11. Unless there is something incredibly fishy about the deal or the creditors are raising a stink about it, the court's not going to do anything to block the sale.
  16. Strike 1 has been a strike half the game and a ball the other half. QUIT NIBBLING.
  17. This ump is going to drive us nuts in this inning.
  18. yes please. I'd LOVE that. Olney reported not too long ago that the Braves were thinking about moving Vazquez and/or Escobar for a bat. Considering they're strapped for payroll, I'm thinking that means they'd be looking for cheap young hitting. Soto and Theriot are the only two names that make sense to me, but I don't think the Braves would do that deal unless the Cubs threw in some prospects. why would the braves want Soto, though? They have McCann. Move McCann to the OF? *shrug*
