  1. Geez, the refs keep bailing out Favre.
  2. CJ Spiller...wow.
  3. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand Ryan Mallett just threw his Heisman chances away.
  4. Trent Richardson is also good.
  5. Mark Ingram is good.
  6. Texas' tackling seems to consist of pushing guys forward.
  7. What I liked about Arcila the most out of those guys was the fact that he was at least a year younger than everyone listed. He's the youngest guy at instructs and the fact that the Cubs think highly enough of him to invite him is surprising to me.
  8. That was amusingly close.
  9. The illegal substitution penalty made it academic.
  10. Nice INT by Arkansas. Wow.
  11. My big sleeper next season is OF Delbis Arcila. I'm really intrigued with him, considering he's a 6'3 190 lb left handed hitter at 17 years old who had a pretty good run in the DSL this year.
  12. I forgot the Rockies drafted and signed Russell Wilson. That should add some interest to the upcoming NC State/Clemson game, considering the Rockies also signed Kyle Parker.
  13. Perhaps, but maybe he prefers being in the booth? Frankly, I'm hoping he returns in that capacity next season.
  14. Fecal League standings have been updated. If the season were to end today, the Cubs would be picking at #9 (instead of #8 due to the Diamondbacks having a compensation pick at #7 for not signing Barret Loux). Barring a late season miracle, the Cubs will likely be staying in that spot.
  15. *Looks up briefly from newspaper, shrugs, goes back to doing the crossword*
  16. Link Bit of an old article, but the Cy Young discussions are starting up. Felix Hernandez is having an excellent year. However, thanks to the fact that Felix has 16 losses or no-decisions in games where he's given up 3 or fewer runs, he's sporting a 12-11 record. He's really likely to lose out to 20 game winner CC Sabathia for the AL Cy Young...despite the fact that Hernandez has out-performed Sabathia in every other meaningful metric.
  17. And Jin-Yeong Kim. +1 There are a bunch of interesting guys from the DSL in instructs, to boot. I'm looking forward to seeing what AZ Phil has to say about guys like Zapata, Hernandez, Amaya, et al.
  18. Callis' weekly chat: Side note: Ugh.
  19. As mentioned in the chat, this year is pretty much a down year for the AZL. Reed was pretty much a given, despite my attempts at playing devil's advocate elsewhere for ranking Chen over him. Although, the fact that the top players with the AZL Cubs were Reed, Chen, Liria, and Beeler seems pretty underwhelming. I'm reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally curious to see how they rank the NWL for the Cubs.
  20. 9th. The Diamondbacks have a compensation pick at #7 for not signing Barret Loux.
  21. In a strong draft. :banghead: Don't worry, at least one of the top-rated players in the draft will fall into the Cubs' laps because of signability reasons. Granted, the Cubs won't take him, but still!
  22. Or, gasp, TWO BLOCKS AWAY!?!?!?!!!! THINK OF THE SENSITIVITY TO DMB FANS!!!!!!
  23. Apparently birch bats have started to come into vogue. I have to wonder how they stack up to maple and ash. Al Yellon has been banging the drum to get MLB to take action on this. I doubt it'll go anywhere, but maybe we'll see some changes next year.
  24. The media, of course, is making a huge deal over this. Would've been nice if Yunel Escobar had gotten that kind of scrutiny when he did it to the Cubs last season Lance Berkman, imo
