  1. The bench was all lefties if I'm not mistaken and Joe was in horsefeathers it mode at that point, clearly.
  2. 4 pitch walk, single, single is "nothing wrong?" 3 ball walk, shattered bat, shattered bat, K is nothing wrong 3 clear balls and one that was as borderline as it gets. But when your pitch chart during that AB looks like a shotgun blast you're just not going to get down and in borderline pitches. The singles were bad luck but happened on bad pitches. He was more lucky than unlucky though since the pirates ran into multiple outs. Even so, he's not better than Pedro and shouldn't be used like he is.
  3. The Brewers suck and they might have the worst offense in the league. And they are down 3 runs. Is the currency exchange when down by three against the Bryan Price Reds really tied? Well they're down 7-1 now so yes. They're finished tonight and for the rest of the season because they're not good.
  4. What makes you think the VB's are going to lose? The Brewers suck and they might have the worst offense in the league. And they are down 3 runs. I really hope they keep running out Villar in CF. That was a joy to watch tonight.
  5. What makes you think the VB's are going to lose? They're down 4-1 and Iglesias will pick apart their terrible hitters.
  6. Because Edwards is very good and hadn't really done anything wrong until the last hitter of the inning. Even if it's "bad luck" Strop is a better option than Edwards if they're both rested. I saw lots of dickshot fastballs even if they weren't squared up and that's because he's got about 20 command. Sometimes results matter.
  7. How in the horsefeathers was Strop not in there? That was an indefensible decision and it'll cost us a chance to add a game on the vaunted Brewers.
  8. Awesome job Carl. I've never criticized Joe on this board but he completely dicked that inning up.
  9. Joe not to be outdone by Bryan Price tonight will let Edwards completely horsefeathers the bed for another 25 pitches.
  10. Jesus Christ get Strop in there. Bad Carl is going to give this away quickly.
  11. Holy horsefeathers Brian Price is the horsefeathering worst
  12. The Jonathan Villar experiment in CF is not going well for the vaunted Brewers
  13. Incorrect. The Pirates are now playing this game under protest.
  14. The HR/FB regression monster is a horsefeathering bitch.
  15. And now it's tied. Bryan Price horsefeathering blows donkey dick.
  16. [tweet] [/tweet] Mets gonna Met
  17. He was solid last year and really benefitted from the new ball if you believe in it.
  18. I too typically really look at the BB/K numbers when looking at box scores and generally agree with this. A few things though, Nova has the 2nd lowest BB/9 in the league. He hasn't walked more than 3 guys in a start all year and he's had more 0 walk games (9) than 2+ walk games (8). It could have all been part of the plan of attack to swing early and often tonight. Also once we put up that 7 spot in the 5th it seemed like guys were mostly going up and swinging at the first thing close to get the game over with (and also I'm sure it's some violation of an unwritten rule to be looking for walks up 10+ in games). Good point. I forgot Nova started. And that's probably a pretty good strategy against him. First half: 10% BB and 22% K Second half: 9.4% BB and 22.9% K It's really a matter of BABIP finally taking effect and getting slugging from guys like Willy C and Schwarber. Went from a .280 BABIP and a slash line of .239/.326/.419 to a BABIP of .329 and a slash line of .278/.354/.478. This second half has brought us much closer to our 2016 line of .256/.343/.429. On the year we're slashing .252/.335/.439. It's almost like that elite offensive team didn't just all of a sudden begin to suck.
  19. Im usually pretty realistic. I hated the 2007 team's chances in the playoffs, for example. I really, really like this team's chances in the playoffs though. The Dodgers just dont scare me no matter how many more games they win. Our big hurdle in my view is the Nats. Any time your big hurdle has Dusty Baker at the helm, you're sitting pretty. Shame we wont get 7 games to exploit that factor, though. Scherzer/Strasburg could demolish us before we get the chance. :( Oh, plus Harper might be done for the season after all which i would totally not root for ever cuz im classy. The Dodgers are going to have their hands full with the Diamondbacks if they can win the coin flip game
