  1. My teams always lose when I wear their shirts. So I went with a different shirt on Thursday. Wore a Bryant shirt today W and a homer. Might have to change my strategy!
  2. Eric Sogard has passed Jose Martinez on the Cubs all time hit list.
  3. Checked the Cardinals score. 6 runs in the first of course. While we’re waiting for our second hit.
  4. *Ryan Tepera MVP Vote alert*
  5. Nope. Got upset by 14th seeded Northwestern St on a last second 3. They were up 17 and blew it, had a chance to put away the game but Greg Brunner missed the front end of a 1 and 1.
  6. Iowa hasn’t been to the Sweet 16 since 98-99 and the last time before that was 87-88. That 88 to 99 gap was the reason Tom Davis was let go for Alford, who then quit(he was going to get fired) and led the the brutal Lickliter years. Fran took 3 years to rebuild that mess and has gotten them to the tournament 5 of the last 7 seasons(yes, I’m counting last year as a tournament season). Despite having 2 of those teams reach the top 10 late season collapses( in those years have led to low seeds and and 3 second round matchups vs 2 seeds. (Other season they faded so bad into the play in game) 2 years ago it looked like Iowa would break the drought after a furious rally to force OT, but the eventually fell to Tennessee. I know the expectations are higher than this, but please make it to the Sweet 16 Iowa.
  7. He looked like he saw a ghost at the end of today’s game!
  8. I think Atlanta was on the 4-1 list, but must’ve improved enough to be off the 5-1 list. They are 3rd from the top on that 5-1 list. My bad, I could’ve sworn the last one said SB(I was obviated wrong) for them. So I didn’t even focus on them on the 5-1 list.
  9. That's got to be wrong, because that 1998 Falcons team ended up making the Super Bowl (they also improved their efficiency over the season). Ah, I was reading as where they finished. That must be where they seeded to start the Playoffs. I think Atlanta was on the 4-1 list, but must’ve improved enough to be off the 5-1 list.
  10. If the Rays lose tonight they aren’t winning tomorrow. Go Braves!
  11. So stagnant not winning every year. So hard to get motivated to get over the final hurdle. Now we know why the Cubs have struggled offensively after 2016(and during at times) just hard to get motivated after donging the horsefeathers out of the Cardinals in 2015.
  12. Miggy’s breakdown was great!!
  13. Looked like we were going to avoid titles from the Dodgers or Astros 2 days ago. Now we are sweating it a little bit.
  14. The Marlins have lost a playoff series for the first time in franchise history.
  15. NL Central 0 runs when facing elimination. Impressive.
  16. Hopefully the Padres don’t give up 10 in the first or whatever the Braves did last year.
  17. Didn’t take long before the Cockroaches brought the leading run to the plate.
