  1. Holy crap, an out. Impressive. ok, going to get that blizzard now. Hooray for fattening food.
  2. This makes me want to go waste what little money I have on a tagalong blizzard to make me feel better. Yep, sounds good.
  3. Bahaha, this is hilariously pathetic.
  4. "Fuld, a hustler, rounds first then makes his way back" Pat, I really like you, but shut the hell up with this hustler crap.
  5. You do, technically. I woke up early and was bored. Feel free to start one and this can be locked/merged. Failing that, you're up tomorrow regardless the outcome of this game. so you're just a bastard is what you're saying :-)) yes. Does it count if I know who he is but haven't spoken to him in like 6+ years? I'm not up on what counts as a bastard anymore.

  7. Yesterday Shane Victorino was ejected from CENTER FIELD by HOME PLATE umpire Ed Rapuano. What had happened was there was a 0-2 pitch that looked like a strike, it was called a ball. Victorino kind of threw his hands up in the air after the ball was called and then Rapuano came out from behind home plate and tossed him. Video here: http://mlb.mlb.com/media/video.jsp?content_id=6014957&c_id=mlb Umps are ridiculous.
  8. Why do people still ask this dumb question. Maybe you don't dislike Cardinal players simply because they play for our arch rival but a whole lot of people do. Well, that's dumb. Are you new to sports? haha, fair enough. I just think the whole "hate him because he's good" thing is kind of middle-school-ish.
  9. Why try, he just counts his 138 million dollars all day while laughing maniacally in his swimming pool full of gold coins like a modern day Scrooge McDuck. :-)) Great mental image.
  10. What a completely odd series. I really assumed today would be an off-day as I don't think I've ever seen a series run from friday to monday. Weird. Anyway, whoever is up for today's game hasn't showed yet so I've taken it upon myself to spot-start. A mod can delete/lock/merge this if the appropriate person shows up or one of the regular spot starters wants to start a thread, in the meantime... Today we are throwing this guy: http://www.minorleaguenews.com/graphics/baseball/Graphics/2006/08/15/FAB50/thumbs/06TomGorzelanny.jpg (4-1) 3.38 ERA .875 WHIP [with us, he's (1-0) 1.23 ERA .545 WHIP] The Rockies counter with a guy with two spaces in his last name: http://www.baseball-almanac.com/players/pics/jorge_de_la_rosa_autograph.jpg (9-8) 5.00 ERA 1.373 WHIP Uh, go Cubs. Don't fall any further out of first, please.
  11. Those silly Zooperstars! What willlllllllll they do next??? Was the wind blowing out? Four home runs made me wonder. Thanks! The wind was howling out, but it was also really really humid so it probably evens out just a bit. It was miserably hot. Oh, and the HR that Brad Snyder hit was a freaking bomb - went onto sheffield. Thanks - good to hear about Snyder's HR. Wind or not, onto Sheffield is a smack! Yeah, it was a shot. It would have been a long HR with or without the wind. The wind probably put it on Sheffield but that's about it.
  12. Lots of teams do this every year with lots and lots of players, partially just to gauge what kind of interest there is around the league in them. There may be more to it than that, and if so someone who knows more about the process can add on to this. But I know this happens quite a bit around baseball.

  14. So, eh, I'm going to be at this stupid minor league game attempting not to get a heat stroke with the 104 degree heat index. So, it'd be pretty cool if I had a win to come home to...whaddaya say, cubbies?
  15. I dont think that means what you want it to.
  16. What the hell did Sean Marshall do to Lou?
  17. GAME OVER, CUBS LOSE, I HATE THIS [expletive] TEAM. oh, they won, cool.
